Yeah, i was under the impression that it was on the side of EVERY tyre.
I run my 16's at about 38 from memory - actually i prob should check 'em - havent done for quite a while.

I used to run my 18's at alot higher than you guys are saying. I used to run them at about 44psi, but it was wearing out the outsides of the wheels, and not the centres, which normally means tyre pressure too low, so I started runing them at about 46psi.

Yes, wear on outside = too low and wear on centres = too much.
But damn, i mean yeah, as there wouldnt be much rubber on 18's run them a bit higher, but 46psi is a bit! Hmm actually its strange..... cars have bugger all pressure comapred to my bike..... i run my bike on like 90!

Okay i pumped them at 38psi - they told me really 32 to 34psi cause if you pump them higher when your turning corners it becomes more slippery and worst in the wet - but i might bring them down to maybe 36psi tomorrow, ill see how it go's.

maybe they want them under inflated so you come back earlier for new tyres due to the excessive were from the under inflation.
if you don't believe us, go and ask another tyre place in your area. ryan |

hey noble, if your gonna ask questions can you please take the information in...cause atm it looks like you dont care what people have said to you...there have been several people here telling you 40...never run the tyres at max PSI which is 42...always run it just below...
on a side note, not all tyres have a PSI reading on them, my last tyres which were awesom didnt have a tyre pressure on them...

Thanks for your comment, but if you think - i wouldnt have posted something here if i didnt wanna get feedback from people here, plus i went to tempe tyres, bone jane t mart and my local mechanic (which specailises in mechanical work and tyres) and all to me between 32 to 38 - now put your self in my position if you read the feedback on top i have people saying - 38, 42, 40, 44, and even 46 (which would be higher than my max) would you go to a tyre place and get information as well just to be safe ? i think you would so please gimme a break and dont tell me that i dont care, cause really if i dont care i wouldnt have posted anything here and just did it, there at 38 now and leaving them that - they look okay, fell okay, drives good and dont look flat, a little more bumper but still okay. Sorry i dont mean it in a bad way or sound rude, but that my opinion on your comment. Quote:

Email the tyre manufacturer and tell them of your dramas at tyre shops and what they have told you. Remember to tell them that the car is FWD also cos that will make a difference. Hope it all works out for you Fred

Noble, just make sure that you keep the pressures up, and keep a close eye on the wearing of the tyres, cause I think you'll find that 38 is still too low, but hey, in the end it's up to you. What sort of tyres do you have on the 18s?

Just pumped my stock 16"s up to 40psi last night, and its made a big difference to corner "tight-ness" and turn in.
Much better. Although a set of 17"s would be nice. |
