The BPT doesn't have a electric speed sensor wire going to the ECU. Only if your car was auto and had a separate transmission ECU would it have a speedo pulse setup.
Edit - The Gtr was released with a speed sensor input to the ECU. However, if your can has an engine conversion, it's still not going to work as the pulse comes from the dash, not the gearbox.

On Ford Laser there's a howto on modding the cluster to get it to generate the speed signal.

GTX is a different gearbox therefore may have a different speedo drive system right?

The GTX has a rpm signal but not speed. Speed is cable driven, straight to the cluster.
At a guess, not many manual ECUs would have a speed signal. The speed of the car doesnt matter - what matters is what the engine is doing that the ECU is interested in, regardless of whether the car is moving. In my BA I intercepted the electric speed signal at the back of the cluster. |

Fair enuff.
But if you change your mind - if you have an electric speed signal the guaranteed location is at the cluster. Forget the ecu and look there. |
