Ha! I did work experience at the Cisco Technical Assistance Centre with a server room that looked just like that, and one of my jobs was to find cables that were only connected at one end and take them off.

far out - that coms room in my opinion is the joke! had to sort out a few of them to upgrade and i got the fun job of writing down exactly where each one went, the colour and length... a week later i was done at once place it was soo messy!
