Wiring Diagrams for BJ II

I'm trying to get a copy of the wiring diagrams for my 2003 SP20. Unfortunately the local dealer only seems to employ a pack of dickheads who are not helping me at all!

Can anyone help??? PLEASE!!!!!!

What wiring diagrams are you after in particular?

I'm mainly after the accessories and interior lighting systems. twilightprotege - that link is excellent! I just wish the diagrams were more complete!

One with wire colouring would be great but it has given me something to go on. The main reason I want this is because I am wiring up neons in the car, and I also wanted to wire in a lock/unlock button for the central locking system, so I can still unlock the doors when I shorten the rods on the locking mechanism to make the knobs flush when locked....

This link will show the door lock mod and how it can be done. I like the mod but the problem is that it seems our SP20's don't get the door lock switch that they have in the U.S.

sounds like you'll have to get one of those electricty tester things. the ones where it looks like a pen, one end is clipped to ground and the pen has a needle end and you put that in the wire, and see if the light in the pen goes on when you do what ever it is you are testing.

i use mine all the time. makes finding live and dead wires easy.

The only problem is that from the workshop diagram it seems that the switch doesn't just use a open/closed negative switching. It appears to use a negative open circuit / closed circuit with 1000ohms resistance on it All of which means that a test light probe probably wont work

ahb11m, if I remember didn't you have an aftermarket kit in your car? not the factory kit?

yep, i thought i just said that!!.... my bad

worth noting: in fiddling around i did notice there is something which triggered a door unlock in the gauge panel, worked on a negative trigger, and couldn't be double unlocked, nor would it lock..... sorry, i was looking for somehting else, so didn't pay attention...

to utilise the factory wiring (through the central locking) you need to use a digital flip/flop which changes output signal every time.... this will give you the versatility of lock and unlock..... too much hassle for me!!!

also the factory REMOTE locking can accept negative inputs.... apparantly

i just found how this sucker thing works
check out www.bulldogsecurity.com
under wiring diagrams - we have a single throw locking system so negative, and then negative through resistor
