The wagon has sagged front & rear springs & shocks, so it looks low in that photo, the sedan however has newish monroe shocks & 40mm lowered king springs all round, so im hoping it doesnt affect the guard clearance

This morning I got busy, pulled apart both my front bumpers and swapped the bottom of the sedans onto the top of the wagons, as the bottom part of the wagons bumper had taken a hit and was warped:
And after a little mucking round, put it back together: I decided to re-use the nudge bar off the wagon aswell, so I gave it a good polish with Brasso: And all back on the car (unbolted in this photo) The rocker covers black paint had seen better days, so I gave it a sand down and hit it 4 coats of VHT Black Wrinkle paint This is only after 2hrs in the sun, unfortunately my oven is a little too small to put it in so I will let it sit for another 24-48hrs before putting it back on the motor. Was a little surprised to find a double row timing chain fitted, and that the motor looks clean Im also in the process of cleaning up the engine bay a little, and am considering running an oil catch can, just cant figure out where to place it, opinions?

Lots of room in that engine bay, you could probably mount it off the rad support somewhere up front. Also engine looks great for its age and I'm surprised the wrinkle effect came out so good from just the sun!

This evening I bolted down the tappet cover after letting it cure for a couple days, turned out better than I expected
As for oil catch can idea's, im a little stuck as to how & where to run it... Cause this is currently being used coming off the tappet cover breather Going off generic photos of different catch cans, they all pretty much have 2 inlet feeds, whereas I will only need 1, would the other just be blanked off as such?

So I got the Weber on this afternoon, but for the life of me can not remember how the linkages are suppose to be at ??? I did have them the other way round, but it wouldnt have worked seeing the accelerator cable wouldnt be pulling on anything :P is it the right way people? Also is there any tricks I should be aware of to get the damned accelerator cable in place??
And a quick mock up with the filter on, should just clear the bonnet Still have a lot of cleaning up to do in this bay, relocate the electric fuel pump, run new hoses here & there..

Well an updates an update right?
Now that the SP20 is fixed mechanically and some personal matters out of the way, my main goal is to now get this running and out of the garage! Nothings really been done since the last post, I got all the linkages and whatnot for the carb sorted out, so its now just a matter of cleaning up all the excess fuel lines & remounting the electric fuel pump and its all good to fire up One thing that I grabbed on a wreckers run was a coolant overflow bottle, out of no less than a Mazda 323 Now to figure out where to mount it, either next to the battery behind the radiator, or behind the passenger headlight, which is where i'll probably place it anyways: And an artsy photo of the carb I took yesterday arv Cheers Marc

Far out what I'd wish for an old school carby car right now. Frigin ECU's and tuning to adopt each time to new conditions is so pain ful. Plus each time I look into that engine bay it brings back memories of sinlge screw driver and spanner works. With space to move in.

An update, WTF!?!?
threw on the Weds this afternoon to see what they would look like, and well, I love the look! Going to need narrower front tyres seeing they are square with the guard (and they are rolled), so will prolly go back to a 195/50 tyre. Rears are all sweet, just going to roll the lips of the guards just to be safe This has prolly given me the inspiration to keep going with the build, so this weekends task is to get it running Cheers Marc

I wish, finding parts for a Z18 is damned near impossible!
