Dont forget you owe me a ride haha. I still have to show you the gopro footage of when you took mine for a spin. This car is going to be a hoot to drive with the extra assurance the toyota box gives, you'll be able to wind it out with no fear of cracking the case or crunching gears into swarf.

As promised here is the update.
I took the Mazda out for a good old time at the Downshift circuit and coffee event at Queensland race way. Got some great photos from Marc here of the car and a video of it going head to head with a 350hp chaser. I was a great day Untill I got home then I found a puddle of oil under the car. After some investigating I found the issue to be this. This worried me a bit. So I pulled the oil filter out and checked it out. There was bearing material in it. YAY So too the car off to my mates place to have the all the bearing replaced.

I was very lucky to be able to get the last set of bearings from ACL in the size I needed. Last set in Australia. While the car was up on the hoist I put in a new intake cam. It was just a exhaust cam modified to fit in the intake cam position. This can has more list and overlap which will help make the engine breath better.
I also fitted new injector seals, and a flex sensor so I can go FULL flex tune. This is it at the tuners sitting there waiting to go on the dyno after a few loom changes. So after a week the car went on the dyno, it was getting tuned at 1500rpm when this happened. The circlip let go and the drive shaft fell out. WOW boy was I lucky it didn’t let go at 7000rpm :S The mechanic installed a new circlip and put fresh fluid in the box and continued tuning the car. I am happy to say it made 424mn at 229.69kws. that was at 24psi. we lowered it to 20psi to get the below and a bit safer tune on 98oct NOW just when I thought all the troubles had gone. The tuner had the car running and idleing on e85 getting ready for the flex tune and found this. Yes that a massive crack in my manifold. That car was pulled off the dyno and I picked it up a few days later. It’s now under the house while I figure out what to do with the stupid thing.

I see some parts have transferred from the blue car already.
Lucky you took the car of the dyno before the manifold danger caused bolts and a large piece of checker plate to fly out from underneth the car. |
