I got pics of how exactly it looks like here... if you need to see them, I'll happily post them as it is now, the ram air functionality is not very effective, and you are also sucking in hot air from under the bonnet because heat rises since the intake is not sitting fully flush I don't think I am wrong with my hypothesis... I think you should take it off and try rotating it upside down... it will install perfectly afterwards here is the manual in case you need it http://www.autoexe.co.jp/service/man...air/MBJ959.pdf but it doesn't really say which way to install it though..... but at least it shows how it all mounts up

And done!
sits up a lot higher than before which meant I had to move the brackets round (to now the proper way as per the above pdf) and yeah, also cleaned out the filter Just about to head out for a drive, see if it makes a difference

Not the first to do it. The Autoexe badge must trick people as anyone would normally assume it would face upwards.

yay!
now you need to move the badge over to the top side, and move the rubber protector around because the ends are now visible at the top, which leaves an ugly gap I just noticed your gearbox mount is missing the harmonic dampening rubber block.. it's there in the stock mount... is it needed? no... but will it cut down the vibrations? definitely! if you still have the stock mount, I would put it on (you'll need a nut, bolt, and lock washer) get another of the same thing, and put it on the driver's side engine mount and it'll help too I have a mate here who did just that, and he got the hardest AWR mounts... it made it more bearable!

The badge is just a cheapy ebay item, not the real deal, so it can stay on the bottom The rubber protector can stay as it is for the mo, too much buggering around now in the cold.. I can admit though after my test drive the car is a hell of a lot more responsive, win!
Yeah I know the dampening block is missing, decided not to run it as it wouldnt have made a substantial difference in vibes, which im use to now anyways

believe it or not, that little square piece of rubber/steel does cut out a good chunk of vibrations by cancelling out certain natural frequencies... it's hard to believe till you try it
now you can enjoy your car like I've been doing, and prove to CAI die hards that the Autoexe works!!!

Hey marc... Might be a good idea to get some pinch rubber to put over the edges of the stock intake mounting point on the radiator bracket...
Otherwise it's goin to get the **** scratched out of it

it shouldn't be a problem if the intake is mounted securely... mine came with a piece of beat up foam to protect it against that bracket... I don't have to worry about the bracket any more though because I'm using the turbo radiator bracket

It has. Few mm of movement, so I just put some there just in case

Believe it or not Aaron but I have no play at all in regards to movement, and it doesnt foul on the bracket

mine is attached to the turbo suction pipe... the pipe isn't very flexible and was designed only for the stock airbox... but I forced it to fit... if the autoexe supplied brackets weren't good, the whole intake would've banged around and get stuffed!
