Replaced the drivers door seal on the ute and put a bottle of radiator cleaner through the system. With the rust I flushed down the driveway I decided to fill with water and repeat the flush tomorrow before using coolant for the final fill. I hope to put the other door rubber on tomorrow before heading out to Caribbean Gardens.

I pushed it to the limit at the track today. Had an awesome time and was best day out. Drifting was awesome and finally got one complete drift by the end of the day. Managed to get up to 145 in the Astina on the straight and through the first two corners at. 110 and 100 respectively. No brake fade or overheating. Surprised a few . with the corner speed it can maintain. More motivation for the new one. tyres held up awesome with a an hour of driving. Thanks to Marc for taking pics.

More little bits for the ute bought/arrived today.
New front indicator lenses, chrome door handles and bonnet rod holder from Thailand and 6 meters of baily channel for the windows and a length of trim for where the base of the door glass meets the top of the door skin. I'm thinking about changing from 1/4 glass to full windows because there doors are a PITA and I have to fix the 1/4 glass latches because a former owners solution bastardised them.

Wasn't today but over the long weekend - in between (and sometimes during) the rain showers:
- changed oil and filter - removed oil filter relocation kit - replaced spark plugs (with heat range 7 ones) Car runs much smoother now, after a period of neglet due to external influences. The oil filter relocation kit came off so that I could start thinking about how I want to mount it with the new engine setup. Next job will be getting the under-drive pulley swapped for a stock one - this will allow the short block to be assembled finally

I've been mucking around trying to figure a way of rerouting my clutch master to brake/clutch reservoir line as it came a bit close to the air filter.
I originally tapped both m10x1.0 but it was suggested it may be on the small side (Brian) so I've wedged a 1/2"npt---3/8" barb fitting in there now to increase the size of line. Now just have to wait for the billet xr6 clutch reservoir to arrive to complete. |

What belt are talking about?
The timing belt is the same because the under-drive pulley only affects the accessories. I didn't think the accessory belts needed to change because the can be adjusted at the alternator or power steering pump.

One day... one day I'll be able to use a jack like that on the ute.

I'd love an 80mm alloy one for the boot. To change tyres etc on the road.
Today I installed my shifter linkage assemblies, new short shifter (cs), wasted an hour looking for replacement studs, closest thing I found was from a Hyundai santa Fe but either I pay $15/stud plus 15 delivery fee or I find a wreckers which will let me belt out a few studs (only need 3!) Finished off wiring the abs back together, ran the airbag wires, all but one stupid fitting done from the fuel system, bolted on the outlet from water pump and associated tube. Yet to plumb turbo water into it. Cleaned up the rear seats and painted the rusty as brackets and installed rear seats, fixed one of the belt holes and intstalled said belt. Installed side bolsters. Ran power wires for battery into the boot.

Its been a while since i have posted anything car related that involves my MX5. So i will be doing a 5 stud conversion on my MX5 but was stuck half way trying to figure out what rotors to use if i were to go ahead with the conversion. With months of pondering trying to go a single piece rotor over 2 piece rotor to save money i didnt realise that the answer was right in front of me. so without spoiling it. I shall go ahead with the conversion and throw pictures up about time i continue with this long forgotten project
