Thats y I didn't cheap out on my 35 series How do you rate the proxies compared to the federal 595s ? Because that was what I was tossing up between when picking mine. Just turned out that one shop did a slightly better deal with the federals Car is looking good btw. Can't wait to see those SSR's on there

Awesome man will do cheers! Is that droop tip just a tip or is there a muffler with it? I guess it could be better to just throw it all on as a new unit, are extractors going with that new exaust line?
Just got number plate lights with 5 smd's Next is parkers how many smd's did you get on each globe for yours im wondering if 13 smd is abit of an overkill haha Last edited by sam holmes; 24-04-2012 at 10:44 PM. |

How much was your injen cai all up? looks good! did you many differences straight up? I have also been reading about people putting warm air intakes on claiming much better economy at the cost of engine performance, for some reason I have been brought up to believe cai's will give the better economy and performance

I once left the pipe off mine and ithad way better economy but that was hwy driving. Cai is said to be better for economy but I wouldn't claim that from what I've seen. More power yes.

the injen was 500 including shipping from america fuel economy around town around the same as b4 but on the freeway its better and performance it has more oofft lower in the revs and in 2nd you can really feel it
btw what is warm air intakes is it like sri's |

They are similar in concept but people knowingly put the intake whether it be the pod filter or bendy tube down near the headers or somewhere that is generally really heated. Im yet to get my head around it fully but the ECU compensates and lets heaps more air in reducing friction energy loss, going to research more into it

You'll find that alot of its to do with leaning the mixture out and small part due to increased intake charge temperature.
Similiar function to EGR valve. Recirculates hot air to lean out the mixture during highway driving etc. CAI intakes provide cooler air, which means you can fit more into the cylinder meaning that you can also inject more fuel. Thus goes the cycle. It does also however in alot of cases remove restrictions associated with stock intake systems (after market filter mostly in modern cars IMO.) which equates to better air flow. Theres a whole lot more to it then this such as velocity vs volume etc. EDIT: Btw the ECU doesnt allow more air in as the volume of air in a chamber is dictated by cam/intake etc. The ecu cant change when the valves open and close merely the ignition timing. EDIT2: Im by no way an expert on this, economy tuning is a whole other ball game.
