This is a simple Q'...why not just striaght 1 inch trumpets with individual filters on each, kinda like the 20 valve 4ages?...is there a reason for this intriquet design?...did you design and fabricate it yourself, overall it looks the buisness, keep it up man...

dude they ARE the 4age-20v setups
thats what inside the "box" i will get some correct lenght velo stacks soon FYI too short/too long velo stacks change the power band of the engine big time , justlike that of a ported sub box, same effect they are 90mm velo stacks but are curved i really need 110mm velo stacks to get the most out of the BP due to its design, but yes some straight stacks would be nice, providing 90mm straights fit and not hit the firewall

Oh yeah FYI:The 20v 4age came out with more then 1 design of trumpets...there were exactly 3 different designs made and produced within the time frame of the 20v...

if i was going to "SNAP" i would have said ; God you no nothign about cars ..ITB lengths..4age this that, BP design blah blah , but i didnt
all i said was velostacks/trumps not good if hitting firewall.. and 1 inch is short for a car with redline of 7.5k oh why curved??? um err. .because toyota use a curved design inside the 4age-20v setups (open up one and have a look) which is what i tried it say, my bad if toyota use a curved 90mm design ..then i will... if it didnt work, toyota would not have used it .simple how to did calculate "blah" well the interwebs is full of what to do's and what not to do's with ITBs..that and i read a 900 page document on the principles of the internal combustion engine, anyways they are not finished yet, ive still gota ali fill epoxy the top of the runners as theres a hole that i dont like,

afaik there is the "production velo stack" which i have fitted ,they are same for the Silver top and Black top engines and the "race" velo stack, short & sweat metal TRD product used for racing, NOT fitted to production models, so very hard to find OR i can go FULL aftermarket velo stacks OR get customs made

Man, I wish I knew you.. I wish you were my next door neighbour so I could help you work on this project. It just looks awesome, and yes a bit of a headache, but one hell of a rewarding one.

Lawsy you creepy dude
But yeah sure, you can jump the fence and help out! 1 of the throttles doesnt shut completely to-do list Still gota epoxy fill the holes to make them look bling It does look weird having the toyota factory velocity stacks there, but im not worried as according to Zappy65 there are other toyota factory items i can use...(still waiting for the pics bro) ITB need heaps of tuning to get right, so yes...a headache is about right Engine is now fitted to the car and everything is wired up using the GTX manifold, will be tuned in the next few weeks. going to plumb up the exhaust system tomorrow as the 2.5" system is going to hurt the power, so ive gone for a 2.0" custom system (keeps the speed up and the heat in = MORE POWER) complete DIY custom system, $55 so far :P its Who you know i tell ya.. gota get my welder from mums tomorrow so hopefully a test start tomorrow Bourbon ; yes i thought about it but the ball had already started roll'n before i was given a URL link to the MX5 - AE101/111 Kits ,so i missed out, Yes a relocation kit will help, but so far it clears everything even with the filter fitted

i would of thought with the amount of air coming in youd wanna go to a 2.5 inch exhaust not down... what size injectors ya gettin?

injectors are either! 253cc running at 52psi or 275cc injectors that i have to to wire upto
253cc should be enough fueling for the power it'll make hopefully close to 100wkw na they dont pump that much air in N/A form to use a 2.5 system 2.25 is almost overkill unless i got some mega cams and 11.1 pistons

I worked on a AE86 with a normal 16 valve with a quad setup and they were complete factory items according to the dude who owned the car and put them on himself...i noticed that the stacks were small and the curved piping didnt exist....he said he got them off a Euro derived 20v....

hmm interesting way of going about it.
my question is how are you planning on tuning it by TPS I guess but it will be and interesting outcome. especially in the FWD form. |

no the Link G3 will be using TPS,MAP and RPM based map tables tuning all together. its also got a "4D" mapping feature to run with low vacume multi butterfly configurations
Zappy".....NO comment. Pic please. dont post TRD or Atlantic engines..as these are not released to the public but... i dont understand this ""is there a reason for this intriquet design?...did you design and fabricate it yourself,"" meaning you've never seen these velocity stacks/Trumpets before!! then this? ""Oh yeah FYI:The 20v 4age came out with more then 1 design of trumpets...there were exactly 3 different designs made and produced within the time frame of the 20v"" meaning you have infact seen these, or else you above post wouldnt get you into a blackhole

Avoiding the other stuff. NIce - be nice to see how it all turns out. I found out how much easier it is tuning Carbys on Race 1600cc Open wheeler is then Using a ECU and TPS mapping. One screw adjustment here and there. so easy. Nah 4D mapping is a big help. Havn'et used the Link setup. Havne't had anyone I know use it yet. My only wonder is - How you plan ot feed it Air ? Easy in Rwd clubmans and open wheelers etc but in the FWD layout - What are planning - reverse vacum feed or just open? I just wonder. It's something I just always wonder about. Because I know the amount you can loose by creating some sort of plenum chamber to feed multis Sometimes not worth it in the first place. Not that I think you would even bother unlike in this case. This motor Yes LS1 It got some intake covers made up with ducts to feed it. Still makes on 600HP but has been have trouble since gettign new covers made up to feed air into the Multi throttle bodys. I'm not surei f it was tune or to do with the intake feeds |
