Engine number location

Hi All,

New to this but i need to know where the engine number is located on my Astina. Mum bought me the car but has lost the registration transfer papers and it needs registering. So on the form i need to supply an engine number, I cant find it anywhere inside engine bay and not sure where to look on the engine itself. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx Bessie

hi bessie.
welcome to agt
can you please let us know what astina is it(BG, BA, BJ), or at least what year model and what engine it has?
for example, if you have a BA with a 1.8L 4 cyl, like mine, there is a small flat (about 2 x 5 cm) surface surface thats parrallel with the hood on the front left side of the engine block imidiatly next to the exhaust manifold (by front i mean the side facing the headlights, so the first thing on the right when your looking at it from the front of the car) this is where the engine number is stamped, but it needs to be cleaned to see it properly

Yes its a BA with the 1.8l engine '94 model. I looked at the spot you mentioned and it has what looks like DT then 6 numbers after it. I will give it a clean to see what the numbers are. If these letters and numbers are right then thanks for your help.

V6 is on the cylinder block near the brake master. It's flush not on a pokie out tab so it's imposible to see without a mirror
