Okay, I thought I'd update a little I got the car back last week after having the new engine put it. The cost ended up being around 1.7K total- more then I had hoped for, but not unexpected as the engine cost more shiny pennies then I had originally factored.

The engine was from a hard top/p2 and had a measly 34K on it. Stoked. All the ponies have been stuffed back into my car and I'm all pleased with the results. Especially since the swap took only two days.. I know how busy the mechanic was that week too. =)

ah thats pretty good that everything is in working order. i dont trust any supplier with the amount of k's that have "supposedly" done on the car, unless you know the history of it. either way if what they say is true then thats great that you have an engine that will last you a lot longer than one that would have done 200+km's. and thats a pretty reasonable price for the work done on the car i guess. hope the car lasts a lot longer this time

Yeah, I'm not totally trusting of the kms either but still, it is obviously younger and more well maintained then the previous one.

price is about right for a swap. good km on that engine if true. your mechanic could've/should've been able to confirm it by check a few things. timing gear, rear main seal etc. happy zoom-zoom.
