fitted my front whiteline sway bar to my BG today... i do not recommend it to anyone who has no hoist.. as you have to remove a lot of things which require a hoist or else you will be squashed by the sub frame. in fact its so annoying to do i dont even recommend anyone doing the fronts unless they really want to. my car is still at the workshop.. sump is out to be resealed the next morning so its drip drying right now.

Installed the Mazda rear strut brace in the BA. Then I pulled the valve cover off and put a coat of wrinkle paint on it.

Well I have just been hit by a bus!!!!
I was turning right on a corner with two lanes turning right when a bus in the right hand lane came out of his lane and clipped the drivers rear side of the car as were straighten up coming out of the corner. Luckily for me the young girl in the car behind me who saw the whole thing stopped and gave me her number as a witness. I have rung the insurance company and lodged a claim. From what I told the insuarce company they told me im not at fault and dont have to pay any excess. Unless he claims i hit him???? Then in a few months they chase me for my excess.. WTF he hit me .... LOL. It has broken the rear tail light. The rear door wont open, because the handles smashed off and the doors crumpled in. The rear quarter panel is also punched in. Oh well i managed to get 7 1/2 years without damaging it. |

I wasn't overtaking, I was in the left lane of two right turning lanes.
When you are on an intersection with two lanes turning right you dont have to stop and let the right lane go first, you turn the corner and you stay in your own lane. Not leave your lane and cross the line by 1.5m going round the corner and hit the car in the next lane as the bus did to me. |

wasn't criticizing your driving as you've done far more than me!but when the brewery trucks come up from hale st ive seen it happen more than once because it it's physically impossible for those trucks to turn any tighter! ive been abused for not going when the light was green and wait a few seconds for then to realize what would have happened if I had gone...but good you are fine!

I go round this corner 2 or more times every day and it is a very tight corner have always been extra careful of this intersection for this very reason. I have always thought that corner would be where id have an accident as well. The bus is from out of state and im sure the driver wasn't local either. Its a corner that tightens up quickly. |

If a large vehicle needs to use more than one lane to make a turn, they need to occupy the outside lane, or both.

Careful with dodgy bus drivers. I know a girl that had a bus run a light and hit her, but didnt take down any witnesses and 2 weeks later the bus claimed she ran a light and hit him, so she got nothing! Good that the girl behind stopped though. Bloody buses!

damn that sucks phil.. did u get the drivers details?? and gav, the vehicles can take up more than one lane when turning, but only if it is safe to do so, not nudge other trafic off the road.. larger vehicles HAVE to give way to smaller ones (truck to car, car to bike, bike to pedestrian.. same as on water..)

I somehow managed to get all details of the driver and of the young girl that witnessed the accident.
Its going in for a quote tomorrow morning and and gets inspected by the insurance company on wed morning. So it should hopefully be fixed within a week or two. Depending on when they can do it. And I do no a few panel beaters so I will send it to one of hem because I know they will do a better job for me. |
