you dont ride a clutch! why would you need a clutch in a FWD on a skidpan...other than taking off and changing gears...

Changing gears?

I was constantly in 2nd around the circle and I dont think I made too many gear changes in the mini-khana - 1st gear all the way

I had to use a mixture of 1st and 2nd, so you need a working clutch, otherwise the constant hard accelleration would kill it...

im refering to my clutch slipping at hard takeofs..
if u rembmer 1st time we went, wehn we did the stopping excercise, every time i took off instead of my wheels loosing traction my clutch did.... even in 2nd.. now i baby it..
