Dear Lucas,

Congratulations on your engagement.

In this post, I make reference to you car engine upgrade. Do not be a girly blouse sissy man. Drop in a 351 Cleveland into your Laser as early as you possibly can. Turbos are for hairdreeses and not for real men.

Regards,
Ryan

Depends how comfortable you and a few mates would be installing it... if you have a fair degree of mechanical aptitude, you could probably attempt it yourself - But any doubt in your mind that you'd be capable of doing it, i'd be looking for some professional help.

seriusly but id get a turbo cus that way, with a help of a preset (2 setting) boost controler, you can have economy, and with a push of a button performance. otherwise ul spend ur money and keep spending for petrol

You'll need to research that yourself i think - not too many people locally would be experienced enough with that engine to say one way or the other.
get on the american forums and search around for some answers there..i do recall one guy making some incredible power on the 1.6 with hiboost kit, but no idea if he built hte engine or not...

a $800-$1000 set of forged pistons will solve that problem if it is not.

but none of the guys who replied had actually turboed their cars. they had all recommended mods but most hadent even done them themselves.
ive sent highboost a email, hopefully i can get more info on the kit, and get the ball rolling on getting that.
