So today I measured the springs on the coilovers, the new BCs have i slightly smaller curcumfrence by 4mm smaller than the old D2s. So should fit with no issues. Maybe even a little extra room to play with.
Also had the MS-01R tested, it is bent. The inside is a subtle egg shape. Can be fixed for $120, if it is fixable. I will just have to use it on the rear for the next track day, as I cannot replace it any time soon. |

So all the coilovers are in. The fronts took 10mins each. The rears took 45mins each. The rears required some machining as the didn't fit properly.
Did a quick measure and I need to adjust the heights up a little more on 3 corners. The spring perch/foot sits higher on the damper threading so I am able to run more camber on the rears and actually have more space between wheel and suspension. Took them for a drive around the block and they initially felt a bit saggy when accellerating in the rear. They are alot softer than my old D2s, but I had then on the softest damper setting also. So I will adjust the height required and use a stiffer setting, and see how I go. The rears need the most amount of raising, so that should fix most of that rear sagging feel. Pics to come asap. |

Raised rear right 5mm, and rear left 15mm. The car sits alot more evenly and turns right better. Found I had also forgot to tighten the front right height lock bolt. (oops)
Both fronts heights were set perfectly. All 4 corners are 10mm higher than previous coilovers. 1st time this morning I have not scrapped out of my driveway ever. Pics still to come asap as I forgot this morning. |

Said bye bye to old D2 coilovers today. They are off to their new home. I got all sentimental for a moment. Had them a long time.
Also on the hunt for my new wheels. These are what I'm after, or similar. |

Lovely looking mate.
One question, What type of BC Coilovers you're driving with? Kind regards, Chris |

Ordered the new wheels yesterday. There are currently in production and should be into the country mid August.
Also got a few things extra little things to do before the end of August, to be ready for another QR track day. Car will have some interesting mods for the 1st time in a while. Last edited by project.r.racing; 14-07-2010 at 07:55 PM. |
