So i have my update on the Sway Bar install

Old Sway Bar set up:

Old vs New:

New:

And....
Fitment issue ((((( Makes me verrrry sad

soo, the sway bar bracket had the Elongated hole on the Side of the subframe, and the clearance hole on the underside of subframe (if that makes sense)
this was the way it was before i pulled the bar off, so its how i put it back on.

Heard some creaking noise that night when driving... next morning i dropped the bar to have a looksie.

I found that by swapping the bracket to that the Elongated hole was on the underside of subframe and the clearance hole on the side. it gave half a mm of extra clearance. so wont wear down the metal on the bar (subframe not damaged at all) however, powder coating has been slightly worn, but hasnt gone through to metal.

Other than that... sway bar is AMAZING!!!!!!! Really performs well. perfect balance for this car!

and Questions, just ask!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the sway bar cost? Looking to get one for my car as well as a strut brace

Kris the size is 20mm, and they are $250 (was originally going to get one, but will however get one in a couple months time)

Thanks marc.

Interesting, the short arm would make it uber stiff. Would make entry and exits more interesting.

Yeah 20mm and $250 as stated.
It really is super stuff!!
Not only does this bar have shorter arms. But once the cr is dropped down they sit perfectly level/flat/horizontal and as you can see, end links sit perfectly vertical/upright!
Makes for better geometry.

Contact Peter from Wholesale suspension in Penrith if you are interested.

I haven't gone up to the stiffest setting yet either (not huge diff anyway) but soft setting is more than enough really

Took it for a mild spin, but you can basically hit the apex, and mash the throttle and it will come out neural.

Mmmm sway bar. I was actually looking at some today with Pedders (I have springs and struts already with pedders) Will see how much they are willing to steal, otherwise i'll ring "Peter from wholesales suspension penrith" and get some.

MAYBE if you wanted to be super awesome Aaron you could pick it up for me and i'll collect them from you when we meet. Wonder if it will fit in my suitcase Thats only providing how much Pedders are. If they are the same price they will install as well generally. Win

And Peter is familiaGTX on the forum here. Has a turbo SP20

He should be posting up here soon about the swaybars. and he has 2 left in stock out I this batch. And each one after that is made to order

Seriously tho... Best mod so far in combination with front strut brace!!

Can't wait for my rear strut brace!!

Does make for very interesting driving in heavy rain tho

Most definately with this bar. Noticed when driving casually to the shops, going fairly slowly around 90degree bends rear end definitely just wants to slide around.
So nice to drive now!
And current price and shipping for progress bar worked out same price.
Except I didnt have to wait for this one (drove 5mins to pick it up) and its a locally made item!
So was the winner for me. Next weekend will change it across to the slightly harder setting.

Petes custom bar is basically a MSP replica with shorter arms than stock, Shorter arms = less leverage = thinner bar to account for the torsion differences.

Yeah what marc said.
Peter even says himself... It's a racing beat/ mazdaspeed replica that actually fits out adm rear subframe (no need for mazdaspeed subframe)

so Update...
Rear strut brace installed and I am LOVING IT!
Not quite as big difference as rear sway bar.. but definitely tightens up the rear quite a bit.

Also got my Window tint done last Saturday.
Ended up going with 20% all round... looks sweet.

Shaz from Show Me Your Tints did the job for me... couldn't be happier

Planning on doing the LCA bushes, Trailing arm bushes, New endlinks front and rear, New Ball joints, Replace Rack ends, replace tie rod ends and replace front wheel bearings...
Nothing in particular is wrong in the front end (Bushes have seen better days)
but just want to do them as a bit of preventative maintenance while I am there.

I doubt when it comes to rego it should have any issues either! lol

I would upload pics (phone pics) but Photobucket is having site maintenance.

EDIT: Also waiting very eagerly for my New tail lights... double globe ones with black autoexe covers....
I hope you are reading this Dan!!

Get the offset LCA bushes for more castor! I had just those mounts done by a shop, as I have no press, and I couldn't believe how much more ressponsive the front end was from a simple set of bushes.

EDIT: I have a Press so will be doing them myself.
