ECU's are generally suited to the engine ie: cams, head ports etc. You can't always get away with swapping in other ECU's. You could try it with a dynotune but it is an expensive exercise if it doesn't work?

May be better flashing your ECU but you really only benefit if you have the goods to perform. Put simply, every ECU is manufactured for a specific powertrain with economy & performance in mind. Go changing this willy nilly & you ask for probs. Economy goes out the window, power all over the shop......

This is more difficult with NA applications. With boosting, you have the turbo do the big time work & the engine follows. The aim of course on upgrading an ECU on a forced induction car is simply to increase power/efficiency. The tune ensures reliability. You have the goods so, sky's the limit (as long as running gear can keep up )

A better example matty is with the Merc. Sure, engine can take a pounding but not necessarily the drivechain......engine (650hp), trans (400hp), diff (280hp). See the weak link straight away? This is what you have to consider even with your lil' beasty! Your box will have a limit just as the rest of the drivechain parts.......

EDIT = HI Matey thanks for the post, and thanks rupe im a slow typer lol

The engine is a 130 kilowatt engine stock flywheel LANTIS TYPE R KF-ZE 2.0 V6. This engine is Japanese Spec in the Lantis/Astina.

With the matching KF49?? or something Jap Spec ecu its revs 7600 to 7700rpm roughly but i dont rev it that hard running it in again.

The ECU was from a Lantis type R.

Im pumping with the even more aggressive camshafts, ecu , exhaust etc around 150 kilowatts at the engine/flywheel.

Demanius, that isn't bad power from a 2L! Like alot have been saying, be happy with this power train! To gain say 10-20 more fwkw's just aint worth the hassle nor expense. That type R is OK

So the 145kW is just a ramdon figure pulled out of nowhere? Has the car actually seen a dyno?

I will dyno the car soon at croydon racing in Sydney I'm confident it would be a good result, I know it's rude to post claims but the car feels really good now.

I will post the results here no matter the result.

Will see for sure fellas. Cheers
