I had certain requirements: Rear USB, rear AUX, Bluetooth and at least 3 preamp outputs. The Kenwood met each requirement

The cheapest double din unit I found that met those requirements was easily over $600. So for three of those Kenwoods I could have bought one JVC touchscreen unit... I'm happy with the Kenwood though, even if it is a single din.

Small update:

Received some Sport20 side skirts the other day, in rough condition but nothing I can't fix.

Currently in the process of sanding them back to bare plastic, and painting them again from scratch.

A quick test fit on the car!

you'll need to replace all the clips and use the drilling template to make the holes

Yep, I figured that; I read your post on a thread a little while ago about installing a SP20 kit on a non SP20

it's not my guide, it's mazda's!

but while you're at it, paint the door mouldings, door handles, and mirrors! Or better yet, get the factory painted electric mirrors... they're not made by Britax, they're from a Japanese supplier

I've got some electric mirrors from Dan which are currently black, but not for long I'll see about getting the door mouldings and door handles painted

keep in mind the SP20 side skirts are slightly different from the accessory kit (the outside appearance is the same)... the instructions lists the clips specific to the accessory kit (and JDM Sport20)... the factory fitted SP20 side skirts uses different clips

instead of 10 of the G043-50-753, use KA80-51-RE5A
you will still need 18 G18K-51-SJ3 as shown in the instructions
you will also need 4 B092-51-833, for the front end of the side skirts... there are the SP20 versions of the clips mentioned in step 5 of the instructions.... the original ones are the wrong size and can't be used with the side skirts... no idea why it's not included in the kit! Reusing your originals is a bad idea! They don't really fit!

Just found out that Rupe hasn't even posted it yet! haha

...will have to wait

Might see about fitting the sideskirts, just while there is no paint on them at the moment. Then drive around with them for a bit to make sure they don't scrape. They're all nekkid now (bare plastic), so when the front bumper arrives I will start priming them, ready for paint.

Also thanks heaps Ed for the part numbers for the clips! Makes life a bit easier now.

Remember this lil' mishap?

Yeah... Well I had a bit of free time today (in the 39 degree heat ) and decided to take the bumper and the indicator off to 'inspect' the damage a little further.

I found that the impact of the other car actually bent this little support! Makes me wonder why nothing else was bent/damaged...

Everything apart from that (and the cracked bumper obviously) is fine, so I decided to remove the support as it just bolts on. Now I'm not sure if its a major part of the body or not but I can still drive without it. Might have to bash it back into shape someday or another, or just replace it all together. Who knows...

Haha yeah I guess I might have to do that instead. Doesn't seem as if I can find a replacement without going to the wreckers... and even then I will need to take off the entire front bumper to undo two bolts and a nut, then extract the support/brace thinggo... CBF!

Side skirts will get primed within the next two days. Just discovered plastic filler primer too which sounds interesting and will be perfect for filling those little scrape marks and sanding marks. No idea when I can be bothered to actually get them painted though. Only time will tell

you can beat it back, or you can just buy a new one if it's still available... it's pretty cheap... a $8 part here, then just rattle can spray some paint on to protect it from rusting

part number is B25D-52-125D

oh and is it me or do you have JDM headlights?

Its just you JDM headlights look cool though! Would have got them if I got the Sport20 front bar instead of the MS one.

I've found the part on eBay (US) but they won't ship to Australia. I'm assuming I'd have to go to Mazda directly instead?

I doubt Mazda will have it. They're flat out stocking simple things for the BJ anymore. Just give it a bash with the hammer first. Its flimsy stuff!
