you still need to remove the intake manifold and inspect for missing screws/damaged butterflies... if you see that, then the manifold must be replaced, it cannot be repaired save for completely removing VICS.... the damage will continue/get worse!

this is a common problem with the J48, that's why mazda recalled these cars!

I meant the parts market for the protege in the US.

Ive owned a Holden before, an old 1980 TE Gemini on p plates at the time, was a good car was 29 years old when i owned it
all original paint was faded and few rust spots showing only had 110,000ks on it too, spent quite a bit keeping that thing on
the road. A Holden these days isnt like a Holden back in the day.

And thanks man plenty more work on the Mazda to come

My first car was a HJ kingy, second, third, fourth were UC toranas. Loved the 202, eventually got a triple dellorto setup that kicked every local cars ar**! I remember going into repco to order a set of filters for the carbs and ol' mate said 'i thought it was a turbo!?' Had recently blew him away in his VL turbo. He made me pop the bonnet to see for himself!!!

I meant mazda 3 sales have taken over commodore sales! Got a soft spot for old holdens still...sorry for filling your build thread with my memories!

it should be easier on a RHD car I think... the bulkhead is different and the wire loom runs a little differently, thus I don't think there will be that stud that gets in the way of the rear mount

however, on a LHD car, it is best to lower the crossmember slightly so that the nuts are more accessible
