so update....

I got my car detailed, paint corrected and poticoat Pro applied
happy days!
this was the Friday just before the last cruise

and here is latest update post from OzMPS.

Quote:
Collecting some parts together to attack the beast again over another weekend full of work.

Bits I have waiting

JBR 70d side mounts
JBR Black silicone bypass tube
JBR black Intercooler boost tubes
(will make all my intake bits silicone )

Soon at add is the SSP Full EGR delete.
This deletes the tube as well as the entire EGR valve. For maximum Neatness and a bit more space

Arriving soon is also Corksport TMIC

and will have to get my hands on JBR Oil Catch can - Stage 2

All these parts will be going in at the same time... should be an eventful weekend...
will also be removing the intake manifold to clean out all the valves and spray the manifold Wrinkle black.
might even to the thermal spacer... but not really to convinced on the actual performance gains...

EDIT: Coolant bypass with spacer seems worth it... what the heck... will just do both lol

Really don't want to pull the intake manifold off more than once... so decided I think I should just get both. that way i can get this mofo super clean, clean all my valves, paint it up black, out all the thermal spacers in, block EGR.
Then remove air box, battery box, TIP etc and delete/block/remove EGR valve, install transmission mount, and bypass tube when putting back together.
then boost tubes and CS TMIC (which i chall be painting all black except for the core/fins.

then drivers side mount, followed by stage 2 Oil Catch Can.

then should hopefully help keep that intake clean!!

for some that don't know... MPS' have major issue with carbon build up on the back of the valves...
this is due to:

A) Direct Injection
B) EGR (combination with the above... no fuel to keep back of valves clean)
C) An absolutely sh*t house PCV design (almost as crap as the sp20 pcv lol)

So that is the reason for me pulling off the intake manifold and cleaning the back of the valves.

and to reduce (almost eliminate) future build up I am doing the EGR delete. and because I am increasing intake flow with modded intake, Inlet pipe and inter cooler, and i am upping the boost, oil catch can with check valve, this will help out the system dramatically.
will mean if i keep up with upper engine cleaner every 12months my intake runners should stay pretty bloody clean

I suppose some would say oil catch can and check valve is a "band-aid fix"... but stock system is adequate for stock boost and flow... I am not aiming for drastic power improvements, so OCC and check will be adequate

I actually did know about that. Was talking to a mate with a BK that i sold my G2 wheels to about doing the wallnut shell blasting technique to clean the valves.

He managed to get 20kg of it. Dunno if he did it, but he offered to do it on mine aswell and i didn't really want to give that a try myself :P

Id rather just soak them and clean etc. too messy and a pain in the ass with wallnut. lol
job will be done over 2 days anyway... so soaking will occur overnight while the mani paint dries

yeah... not really a great job to be doing yourself if you don't have all the tools and arent too mechanically minded.

maybe you need a how to via sms again? rofl

UPDATE:
Decided over the weekend to make some (alot of purchases) amongst a whole heap of OEM Mazda engine parts were some, Wiseco custom pistons for cp-e exclusively (90mm 2.5mm over bore...taking it to 2.4L), Manley H-Tuff Rods (Although Carrillo were ideal... 500USD vs 1100USD I could not justify for my relatively low power figure goal), ARP Main studs, SP63 +625 Head studs.

Next up will be purchasing the LAsleeves - Flange'd Dry type press fit sleeve. capable of a 90mm max overbore.
Wet sleeve was going to be a headache in the cooling department for city driving.

Then onto machining to fit sleeves. Then bottom end assembly after some more machining
