Im super keen, any opinions/thoughts on stock Mazda 15"s OR my 'new' 17"s wheels?? I know 17s are 7" wide so more traction, however the 15s are lighter... (yes i know im being petandic, but i want to get the best time i can)
15's if they have decent tread. it's not weight it's more about useable grip.

the rears are dead weight and the front you only need grip off the line.

Plus increase before you turn up. you should start with about 35 -36 4 above normal all round
the rears stay and during the runs decrease a little if you get too much wheel spin. on street car I normally end up stock on front and high on rear.

anything 300HP FWD - yeah drop to like 26 -24 22 even. Even on street rubber. Can get the Good soft tyres to heat up on burnout to about 28 PSI.

oh and I do recomend Balancing them too if you have time. A trick we did or something we always did was balance the bunrout /grip tyres. Made for the most traction.

15s are better due to the bigger side wall this will reduce the chance of axle tramp. With street tyres don't let your tyres down to far as when the pressure gets Lower the center of the tread actually sucks in and the contact patch is reduced which makes it as bad as running hi pressures. Also don't do to big a burnout as the oil cones out of the tyres when they over heat and you will lose traction

Thanks very much. That makes sense and yes, i do have a pair with 70% tread, the others not so much but ill just use for the rears Plus if i run my stockies i wont be worried about any tread loss and ive got my 17"s to go back to. ALSO i wont be doing a burnout as Andy suggested, mainly to save my diff.

Can you explain 'Axle Tramp'? Thanks
Ok, well plans are 36psi rear with 34psi on the front, then ill lower it if im getting wheelspin
No burnouts! Happy enough to keep tread.

Axle tramp is when it starts to bounce when wheel spinning this is what will break Cvs

Good stuff guys. Great night out Lots of fun I think was had by most of you.

Great Kebab - well I had one stop on the way home.

But for those who don't know

http://www.badgerphotography.com.au/

they normally take the photos at the track and you can buy them and they even do some really cool colage stuff etc.

So wait a day or two and it should have tonights runs and pics of your car up there on the track and your FACE if your unlucky enough. Most of you will most likely have Concentration face.

yeah thats the other one cackling pipes.

times I won't say what I know because owner choice. What I do know is - I think everyone went well.

Irony - I've always said stock is quicker then most.

I think I finally killed my car. - Speedo cable drive died on way home tonight. I guess last nights burnout and pop out of gear and all them missed 2nds finally killed it.

I think some may get a little addicted too.
