Question Performance cam for Astina BA (BP 1800)

Hey Guys,

I've rebuilt a 1993 Astina BA 1800cc. (rebuilt at 375,000KM due to low compression)

I've swapped pistons from a 10.5:1 MX5 and done a full 2.5" exhaust as well. Installed a HKS F-Con pro 3.24 and it made 130 WHP at Dynojet. (also upgraded fuel pump and injectors)

Then I've installed a 4AGE black-top ITB and did a re-tune and it made 138WHP. I know it's not a lot of power but hell a lot of fun to drive.

I'm thinking of keeping it NA as long as possible. So I believe my next upgrade should be cams... I've looked around and so far only found $800++ camshaft sets (without springs etc) from MX-5 NA8C.

What do you guys recommend ? I'm not necessary looking for a crazy amount of power but something a bit more would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

Here's my dyno results after ITB

Nice going so far. As far as scheap cams go, you can utilize the Exhintake swap (just google it) if you want to keep the cost down.
Other than that, you have the mentioned selection of NA8C aftermarket cams to choose from.

Thanks a lot for the hint. Didn't know such a thing exists, but definitely sounds like something I can try... Especially considering that I can always revert back to current state by swapping the original intake cam and re-tuning the ecu

Happy to help.
I just purchased a set of Schrick camshafts for the NA8C myself to try them out in my BA
