Chris, your PSU will be hitting the revlimiter soon with those 2 video cards and that overclock! Do you have to up your FSB voltage to run the bus that wide? I want to go to 500 or 533mhz bus, but I can never get a stable overclock with only adjusting the Vcore (I dunno how to tune the other voltage options).

What days do you work Gav?

When i get my tax back ill pop down and have a looksie for you if you want

As for voltage, cpu is at 1.35 and NB voltage is pumped up about 0.075 volts. From memory you have G31 chipset so you might need a little more voltage

@ Rix im running 10a421

Just need to use a modified dsmos.kext, i use the netkas package. At the time of install there was no other method. Still isnt AFAIK for this release version.

Ill be promptly buying snow leopard when it comes out in september Two copies one for each machine.

I didn't work last week, and I'm only working 3 days this week. I'm supposed to be going onto a new contract soon and will be doing 5 days/week with 1 RDO every month...

Nah, my chipset is X38, so it would be similar to adjusting an X48 chipset. But I think NB or PLL voltage is where it's falling down on wider FSB?

Similiar yah.

I actually used a X38-DQ6 board up and till recently. Goes great under phase

In regards to your question, simply increasing the NB voltage should net you 4ghz so long as your chip doesnt cut out before that. However pretty much every chip ive seen gets 4ghz without too much worry.

As its a X38 chipset and thus uses a different manufacturing voltage you will need more voltage. Simply due to the manufacturing process. i think i used to use .1 or .125 voltages on my Q6700

EDIT: You shouldnt have to touch the PLL voltage at all to get 4ghz

My age old PC.

Intel E6600 core 2 duo
Nvidea 8800 GTS 320Mb graphics
2 Gb DDR2 800 MHZ Ram
A suitable mobo (can't remember)
Pioneer dual layer DVD burner
3.5 inch floppy - dunno why
Thermaltake VX Bach case with 2 built in 5" drawers
Built in sound.
Unused wifi card - now connected via cable to the router.
Coolermaster 650 watt power supply
wd 250 Gb HDD
wd 320 Gb HDD
wd 1Tb HDD
external 1Tb HDD usb and Esata.
XP home OS
22inch LG lcd monitor
Rotel R04 stereo amp and Dick Smiths bookshelf speakers - I know not really part of the PC.

Looking for an upgrade somewhere, maybe an E8500 cpu would be a good start - what do you recon?

No Rix I think you're just classed as a "hardcore gamer nerd" and I mean that in the nicest way possible

You're the opposite to my boyfriend. He did up his old box looking shi**y computer so that if he ever gets robbed they won't bother stealing it lol. It runs just like a new computer.

It's pretty much a Holden. S**t to look at but can go hard if it wants!

*Sorry if I offend any secret Holden lovers* Funny thing is, Paul owns a Holden
