FS: [VIC] JIC Coilovers for BA Astina

Selling my JIC Magic coilovers, as i upgraded to Aragostas.

Fits:
- 1993-1998 Mazda 323 Astina - BA model
- Hatch AND Hardtop
- V6 and I4

Specs:
- Made by JIC Magic of Japan.
- Adjustable height front and rear
- Cusco adjustable camber pillowball tops front and rear - better than the standard JIC tops
- Fronts are damper adjustable, rears are not.
- Spring rates are 7kg front, 5kg rear
- Damping is stiff.

Condition:
- No leaks, no bends, but some scratches and paint missing.
- Bump stops in average condition.
- Rebuilt a couple of years ago with new dampers, seals and hard-chromed shafts at a cost of just over $1200!
- I'd guess around 10,000kms use - i've got no idea to be honest. Probably less than that, considering how rarely i drive my car.

Pics:

Height of car at current adjusted height of the coilovers - so they can go over an inch lower

Price: $825.

Happy to ship Australia-wide, might be able to do internationally too depending on weight.

Were these used or new when you purchased them? How so they compare to say bc or k sport?

Used, but as mentioned above them were fully rebuilt a couple of years ago and have seen minimal use since then.

Never had BC or K Sport so couldn't say.

Personal view, as I have owned/used all 3 in the same Astina...

build quality - jic and bc are the same, d2/k-s much below unless to baby them.
stiffness - jic and d2/k-s are the same, bc much softer.
shock adjustablility - jic 5 click system, d2/k-s 6 360 degree rotating screw, bc 32 click system. none better than the other.
height adjustability - jic effect shocks stroke, d2/k-s and bc do not. all have around the same lowering capabilities.
camber adjustability - jic and bc front only, d2/k-s front+rear.

Dans JICs are a little different to the ones that I have used, he has Cusco camber tops added to allow front + rear camber adjustment. So that is an added bonus!

Personal note to buyers, if these were rear adjustable coilovers, I would've purchased them in a heartbeat. I think that anyone buying their 1st coilovers will not be dissappointed.

so if I swapped these in for my springs/shocks...would that do the same thing as a "lower"?? The people at tyre zone said they'd lower my car for $400, but I think they were gonna cut my springs or something?
Whats involved in putting these bad boys on the car...

Exactly that - remove your old spring/shock assembly, and replace it with the JICs. Two bolts at the bottom, 3-4 at the top - that's it.

Well thats easy ain't it!
It looks like demanius wants them. I'd take em if he didnt want em. wouldn't be able to pay for the full lot until 1 or 2 weeks of paydays though.

The fact that they've been "rebuilt"... what did that involve... Why didn't you just purchase new coilovers?

It took me a while to get the back shelf out and the hardtop is really hard to install the rears without long arms. On the hatch its a piece of piss.

And if you don't buy them, the gold matches my wheels....

LOL, the rears are easy for Hardtop. Just need a socket with an extension to do it.

How does a longer socket help, I had trouble physically reaching around to put the nuts on! May well need a deep socket too.

Ah i did the rears by myself when i put the Aragostas in recently. Just a short extension to do/undo the top nuts, and being careful not to hit the rear window! I've had my parcel shelf out quite a few times now so it's a quick process.

Haha cheers mate!!
But yeah, like i indicated... i'm also financially burdened (just recently got a gf) woe to me and my never-filling bank account.

Dan seems okay with a deposit though, so I'll still take em
