30mm drop on stock shocks?
Hi guys,
I've just bought myself a set of King Spring Lows for my 2001 Ford Laser SR2. Am I going to be alright lowering 30mm and staying on standard shocks? Cheers |

It will work but will accelerate wear on your shocks.
If they are still your original ones they wont last long after being lowered as it causes them to sit lower putting them under more stress. |

I figured as much..
As far as I know they are the original shocks, and if so they've done 230000 k's! Might be time for new ones anyway. |

Just replace them, I put 30mm springs on my stock rear shocks and it was dead about 2 months later, just change them when you change the springs.

Didnt, car got written off before i had the chance
tokico a few of the other members have. I was going to get Pedders Sports ryders to match the front...Front struts were already done pre-springs day because they sounded like a dog barking, so i got the sports ones because i knew i was going lower one day haha. |

I heart my tokicos.
Otherwise contact someone to match the spring rates with the shocks so that you have a comfy and nice handling ride

I saw a shock off a Cortina once that had bottomed out so much the valve in the bottom of the shock-tube was broken,..just a thought. If it were me I'd run higher spring-rates to alleviate the situation. CA |

Hmm, I did the 30mm king springs lower bit too. Wonder how long they will last being driven to church once a week by a little old lady?

Where did you guys buy your Tokico shocks? I just had a look on the website and they want $600 shipping, more than what the shocks were going to cost! I can't find any dealers in Australia?

grave dig.... are the excel g kybs or pedders shocks any different to the stock sp20 shocks? Basically i dont want to buy new shocks if they are the same and will die in a year so besides importing shocks from US what options are there to put the eibach pro kit into?
