fuel filter?

So my car has trouble putting power down at random times many around cold starts.
I get 30 seconds down the road and have trouble accelerating for about 10 seconds then car goes back to normal.
Would you think its the fuel filter?
Maybe even electric coils?
How often do you change your fuel filter?
Where would it be located on a BA? I guess next to tank but where?
To replace do you need to empty the tank or just block the line?

The filter is on the firewall, on the passengers side, towards the bottom
When a fuel filter is clogged, usually you struggle above a certain rpm

The rpm are between 2000-3000.
Rpm will go up and down depends on what im doing with the pedal, but still losing power. So you reckon its fuel filter then?

It's cheap to replace. But its really fiddly. Looks like it takes 5 minutes to change but it'll be more like an hour haha

Cheers for that.
Hate when that happens.

All it is, as you can see, is one nut, two hose clamps and pull old hoses out. But the clips are always the wrong way and the hoses stuck on! Replace with worm drive clamps for less headahe if you need to change again.

sounds like oil problem to me. either cold flow or too much in the chamber at cold start up.

how long you waiting until you drive away? what oil are you using?

I dont really wait maybe 3-20 seconds.
with oil it could probably use a top up as its near low, i think its 40-10W.
its not just doing it on cold starts now.
I drive around a corner and theres a slight hill is just dies in the ass.
Ive changed the fuel filter still the same.
if i drive up the hill with more speed it doesnt do it, only if i take my time and drive for economical it just dies.
So it not the fuel filter what then Coil?
it drives fine everywhere else.

Could be... or a Timing issue.

If plugs/leads/coil(s) and air filter haven't been changed in a very long time... then swap em out as them pretty cheap maintenance items anyway.

well I still got the problem.
I changed the spark plugs and found oil on to spark plugs, checked the new one a couple of days later no oil.

I'm still loss on it, thinking might have intake gasket damage or the pistons rings or a sensor is dirty.
What should I check?
