Post Josh's '93 BG2 Astina hatch

Havn't actually started anything yet, but am thinking of repainting my car white with dual black racing stripes down the middle from front to back. Putting on a custom made body kit made from carbon fibre. Stripping and repainting/improving look of the interior of the car to make it lighter, as well as adding a turbo for more power. Really looking forward to when it's done, hopefully will be the best looking Astina you've ever seen!!

If you can go a turbo, why waste your dosh on exterior upgrades? It can be fast without looking like something out of fast n furious. But body kits and stripes, etc really aren't my cup o tea. Chuck some pics up, maybe shut me up.

Yes to the turbo, yea to the white, yes to lighter. No to stripes. Buy a roll of vinyl and that way It's removable. Get some pics up of what it looks like

Bodykits really ruin the look of most cars in my opinion. Really the only thing you should change about the exterior is the paint, wheels, if theres the stupid black strip on the doors remove it, de-badging ETC. If you have the money to go turbo why not rebuild the motor with better components and modify the displacement and go for a good N/A build. If you have the money to drop on that kinda stuff you should also look into a good set of springs. Post up some pics.

Either keep it looking standard and turbo it and avoid unwanted cop attention or do body work and no turbo. Flashy exterior and power end in tears

exterior wise, only thing i would add is a front lip of somesort. Or one of those mazda original spoilers. thats it. All other bodykits ive seen are hideous.

For body kit I was only thinking the front bumper, make a sort of mouth on it like you see on a Commodor, and shape the underside of it so it pushes the nose into the ground. I was thinking turbo also. I also thought up today of making as many of the inside panels out of carbon fibre, to save weight.

your wallet must be heavy then! or have access to something we don't to make mouldings! good luck and turbo's are awesome. I cannot believe how much of a difference it made to anthonys car up here.

I am making the carbon fibre panels myself by making moulds using the existing panels, so will be quite cheap, and not all to difficult.

around 160hp at the wheels. remember a turbo will also double the torque figure. stock my engine did 70kw atw (less than 100hp) flooring it on boost with chew fuel,, but highway driving economy should improve or stay the same.

The next step up is a hybrid turbo using a Subaru compressor with stock exhaust housing. That will get 200hp depending on boost.
