WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!
Car is back.. have to say they did a great job putting it back together.. BUT has the following little problems - weird vibration at lower revs (maybe due to new front engine mount) - have one orange and one clear indicator on the guards (like seriosuly order 2x orange ones FFS !!) - so called detail must of been done by a blind man (or im just a picky prick) - front number plate is off to the right by about half a centimeter I'll drive it for a couple of days see what else i find wrong with it |

i had issues too man. most shops seem to just rush the jobs out the door and the "detail" i recieved was a dirty sponge with old water...serious! why would you work for hours bashing out a panel and painting it, to just ruin it again... anyway, hope you can sort the issues out!

Panel beaters are the worst. I got my wing and mirror resprayed last week. Got it back disgusting. Im still cleaning dust out from inside. Like seriously, did they sand back my fookin wing with the windows down or something? Idiots. That and there is some kind of Pink paint or glue or something dried on my steering wheel. Thats lovely too.
Moral of the story...I would take it back and say fix it. It is little things, but still, how much money did they get from you?/insurance company? |

to be honest guys its back and all the things ive bitched about is fixable or ignorable just hurts abit after you work on your car so much and then some guy just doesnt car about miss matching blinkers.. anyway
Update 18/07/12 found the weird vibration in the car rear engine mount... GOOONE !!! so with that and the engine leaking oil like crazy have decided to keep it and invest some $$$ into it.. I just love the car to much.. So bits im thinking / working on. - Getting coilovers for rear - 18inch rims - rear sway bar - hardrace engine mounts now the big stuff as the engine is basically farked thinking of the following 3 options 1) fix current engine invest god knows how much with 208 XXX on it 2) FS-DE - quoted roughly $3k for engine fitted, labour, and everything replaced. 3) FS-ZE - for similar sort of money at the end of the day via rupe and goes harder :-D yes im crazy but at the end of the day with all the engine work done all i'll have to do is service for the next 2-3 years without having to replace anything on the engine in theory.. If anyone has thoughts.. post away.. Last edited by swift jimmy; 19-07-2012 at 12:06 AM. |

Mate go the ZE best bang for you buck and it looks factory . I have driven a lot of cars and the ZE the BJ is a nice car / motor combination . The beauty of these motors is they rev and pull the whole way to redline .
As you are most aware I have mastered the ZE convervision and also made it run on the factory ZE PCM . |

ZE is much simpler, has a longer life time, less problems and cheaper.
There's a reason the catch phrase on M247 is Zoom Zoom Boom.

Here's an idea Swiftjimmy , get motor off Rupe drive to the sunshine state on a Friday I will install it and you drive home -- your car will then join the monster garage ZE modified club . In and out in the one day --- condition all parts ready to go and motor prepped to go in. Photos with the other 4 ZE 323 and you drive home Sunday.

for a little extra, I would be turbo charging instead of the ZE, especially if your FS-DE is in good shape.
Ive had my car non stop everyday since my turbo conversion with no dramas |

Get that ZE in there! Then turbo it! FS-ZET all the way!
I just wish we had garages in the UK who knew this car What is really sad is that I've been offered an FS-ZE, with loom, ECU and a UK spec manual gearbox for £200 I've changed the engine in mine before, so I know whats involved (about 2 days, and a case of beer!) It's just the time, and risk of having it off the road. I'm going to get him to keep hold of it for a month or two, and see where I am from there |
