No prizes for doing 1.6 and 1.8 rear mounts I'm afraid...
Gav.
hence i said same mount, same pains and pointed out it was a 1.6

but i would say the 1.8 and 2.0 would be both as painful - they have not much between the firewall and the IM - the 1.6 has room, but the IM sits much higher, needing more length...

The 1.8 is quite fiddly as you know, but it's still lightyears easier than the SP20. Seriously, the 10mm offset differences here and there with additional hydraulic and electrical equipment really makes things not worth while doing on your own. If I have 2 spare hours, I will happily do a rear mount on a 1.8, but I will never do an SP20 rear mount ever again, not even for a favour for a mate...

Well I finally drove my car today, and holy crap does it vibrate!! Sounds like my car is about to fall apart!! especially at about 1500 RPM!! The car feels different, and it seems easier to change gears, and on a hard launch it seems to hook up a bit better I suppose.

Try have 95 AWR front and rear and filled in side mounts... I get a massage every time I start the car

Try low speed hard right hand turns with a bit of power, you'll find the wheel now longers wants to bounce through the guard.

It took me 9-10 hours or so to an SP20 rear mount the one and only time I ever did one, this is compared to 2 hours in the 1.8L... I think you SBF'd taking it to Mazda in my highest reccomendation.

Cheers, Gav.

If you really want to do it yourself, I suggest you set aside the better part of a day with good daylight. If the nuts on your engine mount aren't seized or damaged as was the case on the SP20 I worked on, you should be fine. I do bleev that Mazda put thread-lock on those bolts, so it's a compounded difficulty. Take note of my comments on the brake lines on the firewall, and what Ripper did with his install by removing the mounting bracket off the back of the engine/bellhouse.

Buy my inserts! Cheers, Gav.

That thread got neglected long ago, perhaps just after the body kit was done. There were heaps of mechanical and suspension changes since I stopped bothering to update that thread. I might have pics of the front inserts installed, but not all of them.

Gav.
