Ackermann
Ackermann refers to the fact that when a vehicle turns a corner, the inner wheel needs to turn at a tighter angle than the outer wheel. Well, it doesn’t have to, but if it doesn’t then bad tyre scrub will occur. The difference in the two wheel angles achieved during cornering is called the Ackermann angle. Most HPV constructors consider Ackermann to be absolutely vital, primarily because tyre scrub in cornering creates drag and so slows the vehicle (or makes the rider work harder!). Its 2/3 the way down this page, and whilst it deals mostly with human-powered vehicles it gets the point across. otherwise google "Ackermann vehicle" for heaps of links http://autospeed.com/cms/A_3039/article.html

Yeah, thanks. But I don't see the connection to Zappy's comments about either the breadvan or the hairdressor mobile? My best guess is that he is refering to a car leaning over on 2 wheels around a corner.

fail! He is insinuating that I have little knowledge in car handling terminology, nothing to do with our driving and/or choice of transport. But tell me, how are your driving techniques Mr Zap'n'crash?

Ackermans angle (a.k.a. Toe out on turns) is when the inside wheel turns into a corner at more of an angle then the outside wheel, this prevents tire scrubing in and around turns, this is very vague though.....basically above post...
Anyway.....Marc, do you want me to make up a quick map and you say what i did wrong, ill start it tonight and we'll see how i go. Chicaboo, ill explain it when i see you at the cruise....we just finished this module at Mazda School a.k.a. Tafe for Mazda's...
