FYI: Stiffer AWR engine mounts for BA

One of the guys on iMazda has been getting Tony from AWR - http://awrracing.com/ - to make up some stiffer engine mounts for the BHA Protege - which will fit the 1.8 BA Astinas.

This is the first time stiffer mounts have been commercially available for BA - apart from the Mazdaspeed ones which are ridiculously expensive, or customs solids i've had made myself for a few people

Just a heads-up in case anyone is interested.

They look quite similar to the BJ ones.

Not exactly the same, thats for sure. But the rough layout is similar. I'm sure that Tony has been able to re-use some of the jigs he has for other models to make these.

Be interesting to see who would be after these.

I wonder if they will be offered in different duro rubber strength

Also, tony is a great person to deal with, I have the front and side mounts in mine, and although a little rough at idle vibe's wise, are a top notch mount

You'd have to ask Henchman - the guy getting them developed - that.

But i'd doubt it.

Probably not, I haven't yet received the prototype set yet.

I'm going to ask about some kind of group shipping for the people who are interested about these. Please feel free to PM me any questions.

Bump, I had to ship back the passenger side of adjustments. I'll update this again when I talk to Tony Wednesday and find out where I stand with the entire set.
