mate if it makes u happy do it and mod the car and stick with it.. no matter what anyone else says its what u want that matters in the end. after all noone else is paying for what your doing and noone else can say its theirs on the end of the day so if it makes you happy do it
for eg i could of easily bought a MR2 turbo instead of my little astina, but hey, there are so many driving around its not funny and there are so many parts for them its not chalenging, nor is it rewarding, with common cars that have heaps of off the shelf parts, its whose budget is bigger that makes the car "better"... i hope you decide to keep it cus its a nice car

thats it, i mean i know id get a lot further with something else, but the fact is, i like the car a lot. its fun to drive in, its different, and i like the fact i can pull it apart and not worry toooo much about breaking stuff.
besides i dont smoke, dont really drink, this is my only money waste!
id rather go all out on this car, then get serious and stop spending mney on cars, than stop now, an regret it later on....

i allways think of my first car, my parents bought it new, it had 64 thou on the clock when i got it, and i sold it at 80k for like $3000! i didnt really wanna sell it, but i thought this car was a better choice at the time. and when i bought it i said to myself, im gonna turn THIS into my show winner!!

one day!

im not a big fan of the dark blue on the laser as it has more sharp lines than the astina...go for a lighter colour that will show off the lines will make it look 100x better

haha +1 for ice88. most of my money goes towards social stuff (food too). then the car. life is much cheaper now without a gf, the car gets extra lovin

mate the laser is something different. everytime i see a lancer/skyline/supra/wrx go by its like meh another one. i dont see the point in modifying a car if it just ends up being just another modded [insert rice box]

the photo chop on the previous page looks good. liking the teal with the chrome highlights. that front bar looks like your current lip blended with your front bumper and with the lower vents filled. i say go for it, looks hot.

at the end of the day, its your car, your style and your satisfaction. from what i've read you seem to really like the laser and its your pride and joy. how do you want it to look?

i was thinking today, no matter what car you have everyone will have haters...

4cyl have the v8 guys
n/a have the turbo guys
uncommon cars have commonly modded cars

so no matter what i do ,ppl will allways critisize....

its cus every car has its good and bad points, only owners will never admit to that haha. 4 cyl can have crazy power to weight, but fcuk all torque compared to a v8, superchargers will hve awesome torque but cant be run by a 4 cyl good, and dont have a exponential increase in output like turbos, but turbos have lag, and v8s cant rev hard to make neccesarry horse power and rotarys are annoying maintenance but in the end everythng comes down to how precisely the engine is put together

Tony, some 4cyl Supercharged cars will overpower some V8's, like the 4AGZE for instance, or my favourite, a 4age supercharger on a Gemini 1.6L

Have a look on the net for a twin supercharged V6 Gemini, that is purely nuts!!!

And then you have cars like the VW Golf GT: a 1.4L engine with a turbocharger and a supercharger to the tune of 168hp, and awesome fuel economy.

Lol if you want to see haters go to boostcruising. Half the cars are 180sx/silvia/skyline and the other half are commodores, and forget it if your car makes <200hp and can isn't 5cm off the ground. For instance, there's a thread on there atm with photos from Datnats 2009 with all these fantastic mint looking Datsuns, but what does the first comment say? "white 32 is ****ing hot".

spoke to the painter today, he is going to ring around, work out what he needs to do to mod it, and let me know how and when he can do it!
he seemed tio think it would be easy enough to do, maybe just a bit time consuming...

how about $$$ ??

saw that you were interested in the BJ1 eyelids, and although its only my opinion, I reckon they would fit!

your rig:

The eyelids:

from what i'm looking at, it appears as though the bonnet curve is nearly the same, thus making these able to be fitted without modding! Looks like they finish at the headlight beam (as I assume the lasers have a seperate blinker like the BJ1's?), but would look very nice & neat

SO yeah, just thought i'd share my $0.02

Cheers
Marc

haha i remember we left some boost cruising guy behind on the raceview tavern cruise.

those eye lids look pretty close, only prob with customising would be if the angle on the top corner of the light is too different so they dont sit flush against it. but that can be fixed.

other option is to DIY, its not even that difficult. just need fibreglass, bog and time
