Talking EOI: [SA] Retrofit SP20 Headlights

Hi, I'm considering selling my headlights before the car, so I have a little more money for the new car.
Details are as below, I'm happy to ship anywhere in Australia, maybe internationally for a little more.

SP20 (Protege5) Headlights blacked out housings
FX-R bixenon HID Projectors
E55-R Shrouds which have been painted silver (the silver looks good on any colour car, not just because my car is silver, see the picture below)
I will also include the Philips D2S 85122 bulbs I bought new for it, (probably only 8 hours use), these aren't cheap and you certainly get what you pay for
If you need ballasts I can send my current ones
I'll also include some chrome E55-R shrouds if you prefer chrome and want to change them over yourself.

All wiring will be included, making this setup literally plug and play for any SP20 owners, although it won't be hard for any non SP20 owners to get it working.
This includes my custom wiring which allows you to run dual high beam, and actually hurt peoples' eyes.

I put a lot of time into these and they've come out great, the lenses do look new, but if you're pedantic like me, there is some sort of imperfection in parts of the lenses which requires sanding back the plastic, I've only polished them.

Price: Looking for offers as close to $700 as possible, to make it worthwhile selling them, as Dad has already made an offer for his car.
I have my original headlights so I'm not looking for swaps or anything like that, although a suggestion I would make is that some of the SP20 owners could sell their current lights on this forum as I've noticed there's a few people after them.

All important pics: (I can take more later if people ask)

Not mine, a similar design though, just to show how good the silver shroud looks on different colours.

PM me or reply below
Cheers,
Daniel.

Theyll fit. Just not sure how the wiring loom will work with the headlights. (most likely just have low beam).

God damn, interested! Who needs tyres for the new wheels anyway... lol What did you fix the eyelids to the lenses with? Do you reckon they would leave much crap on the lense after being removed?

Cheers,

Chris

Yeah they can be run on a non SP easily, I can help you with the wiring if you need

Just double sided tape, I took them off my old one, gave it a quick polish and you'd never know they were on there in the first place, I can do that for you if you like.

Thanks DB, would love to see someone else on this forum rocking these, very unique look that people actually notice.

Genuine Philips 85122, so 4150K

http://www.oembulbs.com/philips-d2s-...arge-lamp.html

Also got some $10 5000K bulbs that the $100 bulbs destroy.

The bulb colour doesn't really make much difference in projectors though, as I've colour modded these projectors there's a solid blue/purple cutoff that looks amazing at night, and gives the lights a 'flicker' as you drive from a distance.

Here's a photo of just one of the lights (with the crappy bulbs) at about 15-20m

If you don't like it I set it up with removable spacers so you can reduce the colour and get a sharper cutoff

Can you still adjust/align the projectors?

Yep, they're fully adjustable using the stock adjustments (as much as they suck), the back of the hosing looks completely stock too, apart from different plugs, the only issue is that changing the bulb is a little bit of a tight fit, depending on how you aim them. Not a real problem though, and certainly doable.

I'll put up some output pictures when I can, but I've rotated the passenger side light so it shines at an angle, lighting up the left hand side of the road a bit better (higher). It was a suggestion on a forum that works quite well. But if you park perpendicular to a flat wall it's noticeable.

Redead the post with the new picture of the projectors

There's also a massive difference in distance between the photos

Just low beams in both pictures, The one with the cutoff on the wall was of my first attempt at the lights (with black shrouds and not colour modded). So there was a sharper cutoff.

I fiddled with the shields inside the projectors so there's more colour which is what you see in the garage door picture. The distance does make a big difference too as Ice said, but theoretically you should still be able to get the sharp cutoff by removing the bulb spacers. So you can have either

Yeah, I started with matte black housings and shrouds, wasn't happy with how they looked in the day though, at night they looked awesome, but during the day the matte looked funny. (Satin would probably come out nice though)

Only pic I have of the black

They are custom retrofits, I did my ones with parts from the retrofit source, they have how to guides as does the hid planet forum, there is also a facebook page called headlight junkies that may be helpful.
