Update update update
figured it was about time for an update
the flat spots are becoming smaller and less severe the more i drive it... so it just seems to be sorting its self out. Which i kinda figured it would... the timing adjustment also helped. There has been a few problems just within the last week or 2. 1) the left rear shock (seals) have blown ... noticed it as i made a left turn... the whole car was shuddering like bad tread shuffle.... except i wasn't going that fast. 2) The rocker cover gasket is now leaking (easy fix) 3)brake master cyl was leaking. was going to fix it this weekend.... but it decided to crap its self lastnite while driving... was an interesting experiencs 4) Shifter bushings are shot... they were always average... but they are pretty much ragged now... so need to get some new ones. 5) GOT NO POWER...... rofl... have been driving my brothers 180 quite a bit... (while i still can.. P plate laws), then i jump back in the asti... got no balls compared to the SR, lol. the biggest thing where is is lacking is the wall of torque from the boost the 180 even feels nicer to drive tho... just seems like you are actually apart of the car ... and i know this sounds bad... but one with it,,, and seems much more direct... which i like. good points the asti has over the 180 tho... ssooo much easier to drive through city traffic. mainly down to the HD ceramic brass button puck clutch and the astina is quicker from like 0 - 30 But the wierd thing is that i actually find the 180 easier to drive than my astina... (except through heavy traffic).. i guess its just because the car gives you alot more feedback of what it is doing and has much better feel. also, things to come on my astina..... pretty much nothing.. my plans are now to keep it as stock and least modified as possible. that way once i am off my P's i can go straight for the car i want. but i do have an xplode sub and a rockford fosquake sub. don't really want anything too big.. (not into the doof doof) but just wanted a bit more bass and a better balance. been making up a custom sub enclosure, amp rack and false floor for my brothers 2 seater 300zx. so gaining some experience from that i will probably end up making a molded enclosure for mine aswell. the BG is soo much easier than the 300

Soooo... I know it's been like 14months since I even owned his old beast... But I have an update... Saw it at a wreckers in green acre area... Had the front all smashed in rear left quater panel smashed by a poll.. And looks like its been rolled.
What a sad day. Apparently it's being sent to get compacted tomorrow Bye bye my old Tina... This is the exact reason why you never sell cars... And if you do... Sell it to someone in a different state lol, coz it will get destroyed from this: to this: to soooooooo far destroyed its not funny! I shoulda taken a pic! dude must have got seriously hurt driving it.

yeah sh!t happens... but still sucks.
in the end it was a cheap car, and i always expected it to end up like that... but I just wish I didn't have to see it lol and it wasnt exactly Mint... being old (and undriven for ages) it had its problems.... this thread is riddled with them

I meant after you painted it Of course it would have its fair share of problems, but it looked awesome after it was repainted

Doh
I've always said to myself that i'd get my Astina compacted into a cube if i ever wrote it off beyond repair. Would make a great (500kg!) coffee table
