THU Apr 08: To Tune or Not To Tune

Well I went down for a day of dyno fun only to find out that the council had come the previous day and put some heavy restrictions on the shop for making too much noise.

End result. No tune for me. Someone hates me upstairs.

The car is pretty much finished. Only needs some braided lines in the engine bay and the fans to be wired up.

Some randome pics from today.

Boost Gauge

Capped Dizzy and M+W Ignition Coils

Looking like a motor setup. Blue lead is for testing - the timing light couldnt read through the 8.8mm leads.... LOL

I plan to get some custom blue ones made to size when the car is rolling.

Modified front bar and freshly sprayed "SCREAMIN" intercooler. This is a sore point atm.

Still going to be a while untill they sort out their Dyno problems.
Sigh.

Fins of an intercooler/radiator are a little fragile. I'd be pulling such a tanti on the workshop that they would fix it (and recess it) before you finished ranting.

HHmm.. I was going to ask if it was sticking out further than normal.. Looks like there is no bottom part of the front bar at all..

Yes I wouldn't mind upgrading to that I/C and redo my pipes but I also love my stealth look, I dont want that "Screamin to be pulled over Look"

It cant go back any more due to the A/C Condenser. I didnt want to loose AC. The new bar sits further forward then the stocko so it will do untill then.

Buy this IC mal, spray it black. You wont have any problems due to no AC so it should sit alot further back. Ill get another one

Coming along great! Just a question, what turbo is that?? Looks the same as my VF10 hybrid, but bigger. Maybe it's just a visual illusion.

Good luck with getting it tuned...I'll be needing the same luck soon.

Try VF8 Hybrid with a extra large snout welded on

And Jimbo I wont paint it black I would paint strip and repolish it. You wanna sell
it cheap as a damaged 2nd hander all cool by me. All I am saying is that with my
setup those that know what to look for know and most others dont notice. As you
say hopefully the new bar will cover up some of it a bit better.

Regards

Mal
