Be careful with verviers, get the mechanical ones rather than digital ones, I have seen some shockers from Chinese brands. Like you clean and set to 0. Pull apart and put back and it's at +- 10 or more. Seriously. Some even went to triple digit errors

Bluebird wagons rego expires on the 17th of May, and im not going to re-register it, so should I just let the rego lapse (ie not pay the renewal) or do I have to surrender the plates to QLD DOT?

In theory you need to surrender the plates. If you cbf'd though just take them off so you can't be fined for leaving them on the car if its on the footpath/road

Hey guys, I'm after the flush look. AFAIK it's impossible to do so with touring rims with offsets available. So, is it as simple as measuring the distance until flush, then adding a spacer? From the legal side of things they need to be permanently attached, I.e. welded, which is fine, but to what? Behind the rotor, on the hub? Doing so will push the disk out, and then will require a similar spacer for the caliper? What's the leagality on that, also there's this issue of increasing track by x amount, to the centre of the tyres, is it 25mm each side or total... Total will make this effort rather costly for 12mm each side... 25mm a side would be more than enough. Thoughts? A set of bolt on spacers are 250, which is cheap, much cheaper than the above, can they be legalized? Also, what's the hub ring diameter for our hubs? Thanks

Not sure about the bore (hub diameter) size for the BA/BHA. I think that the protege is 62mm or something

Did the BA come with spacers as an option on any of the models? (or even fitted?)
If so then there legal AFAIK.

Darryl, if i were welding it to anything id be inclined to weld it to my rotors. That way its easily replaceable for any reason. Plus welding steel onto mag wheels, good luck!

I'd just get the correct offset rims.

Rotors are a wear item so you would need to re-weld spacers onto new rotors every time you replaced them. Perhaps custom rotors? Also, you may need to look at extended wheel studs depending on the type of spacer.

Bolt-on spacers can be engineered (but not sure if in QLD). Slip-ons are a no-no though. Bolt-ons must be bolted to the hub/rotor so that they do not come off when the wheel is removed.
Also some new cars sold in Aus have spacers from the factory, so are perfectly legal.
