made or sold? thats an important difference here

The first BJ I ever sat in was the SE20 back in 2002, I thought it had the most comfy seats out. Prolly even more comfy than the SP20 seats. Woofy has said the seats are different, so maybe the have some fancy schmancy Jspec technology...?

Ah and all of you doubted me.....told ya that the SE was 2002...ours was BUILT early May, rego'd late May, the SP20 Protege came out a few months later, I suspect after the SE's sold so fast they decided to make them a permenent thing. Two gripes though, the limited Starry blue on the SE should have stayed limited, and the same for the yellow in the Astina's. I'd be pretty annoyed to be told its limited only to have it come out on everything a month later.

Dunno the silver bits are a different material and the inner bits/door lining bits seem to be a better quality than my friends Sp20,, I'd never realised they were different until she got hers. I think the bolstering is the same, but not sure.

at the end of 99 they brought out the run of 40th anniversary models for 121,323 & 626.

The Astina 1.8 (only) anniversary model came in silver or red with the interior exactly the same as the SP20 climate control as well.

We bought one and have been very happy with it but its time to step aside for the arrival of the 23....

i thought about listing all the special models/shades, but since mazda doesnt list them and redbook doesn't actually say when each special edition etc...but the basic specs don't change

also, on the topic of the BJs - at my old job i did the mazda australia site.

the subsite for the SP20 was designed in november 2000, and the facelift 323 subsite in jan 2001! Quite a bit of forward planning there.

Shades is Mazdas runout special. They add some bits like Mags, A/C (although it was standard on the Astina), some fancy SHADES decals and sometimes fog lights. It's a better deal on a 121, Protege or base model 626.
Imagine a Astina V6 shades. It wouldn't be any different LOL
