14" tyres on 15" rims!????

Hi,

The tyres are 14" rimms when measured were 15"....they fit like a
glove....standard nuts will be more than okay.

regards
alexandra

can 14" tyres really fit on 15" wheels...it kinda make me laugh how ignorant some people are!..like a glove...thants funny

they could fit, but they wouldn't be sitting on the rim correctly,

i have a mate with 14.5inch rims, and he had to get 15inch tyres to fit it!!!

honestly i think they've prolly had a few too many beer bongs if they think its ok!!

bigger tyres on smaller wheels makes some sense, not smaller tyres on bigger rims!

oh yeah he had wide rims too, that was the hassle, stock vectra, with stock rims... damn euros

but all the same, if you have a look at a tyre off the rim, you will see there is a lipping in it, that secures (the air does most of the work) it against the rim....

if thats not in the correct place, it might hold well, but your tyre warranties are prolly out the window

if you measure a 14" wheel with no tyre then it actually measures about 15".
14" is not actually the wheel size , its the tyre size that will fit on that wheel.
so it probably was a 14" wheel. the 14" comes from the part of the wheel the tyre sits on, not the visible part of the wheel.
hey, that means i`ve got 18.5" rims!!!

Somewhere on the rim should be the size IE, 15X6 JJ. The 15 is the diamater, 6 is the width and J or JJ has something to do with the lip where the tyre sits.
On the tyre will be a code such as 195/60/15 etc. The 195 is the tyre total width in mm, 60 the tyre height from the rim to the outside and is measured as a percentage of the width, last is the wheel size in inches (unless you have some strange euro rims, common on BMW). Their are also speed and load ratings but that's for a different topic.

Plus if you read the first post the response was from an Alexandra
sounds like a chick to me & hence the bimbo response in the first place.

Years ago I missed out on a 72 427 Chevy Corvette Anniversary model for $500US
my dad met the wife the day after. The husband was screwing around and while
he was "Away on a business trip !!!" she sold his pride and joy
Would of had that baby in a container and on its way to OZ before he got home.
Gotta hate those "if only" things that happen in life.
