yeah the car doesnt run of the batery when its on (but the alternator) if it fades in out, its likely that there is a break in the conection between the LED and the circuit board. or a bad wire (+ or -)

That doesn't sound right,
i thought all the cars systems function off 12 Volt, hence they work when engine isn't ticking over,
Alternator always charging the battery, through a Voltage regulator, Cars electrical systems always drawing current from battery.
Please correct me if i'm wrong.

I found the same issue when not running any parkers then changing to leds for parkers. When you put your foot on the brake the car acts like youve just turned the lights on (clock dims, stereo dims and leds on the ac settings flash) and at night I have started to notice that the dash lights up very faintly. Test this out as you might have a blown parker bulb.

what i reffered to is that you can take the battery of the leads when the car is running..(as the alternator will keep it working)
well this was the case with my old car.. dunno bout this one tbh.. i will try but haha

oh wait i JUST remembered
my batery died a year and a bit ago and i got jumpstarted and drove to get a new batery.. point being that when the batery got tested a few of the cells colapsed, so it couldnt hold a charge..
so yeah u can run the car without the batery after you start it
not recomended but (strains the alternator)

Does the clock tell the right time at least? Mine fades in and out and goes off completely, and never keeps the time if you make it what it should be.

still sounds like either a bad ground/lose wire or a wire shorting!
