No idea on a shop in Adelaide, but it sounds like some new synchros are in order.

As for the gearbox, I'd say just get it rebuilt - and new synchros too. I'm no gearbox expert, so I cannot offer any good advice, and I have no idea of any shops that specialise in gearboxes, but the 'advice' I gave is probably the best advice I could probably offer :P

Yeah that's them, also had issues with the price, but I won't go into that as it's all done and dusted.
Ill do some seraching around and see who can get me a good price on either doing a swap for a rebuilt one with new clutch, or building mine again with new synchros, and whatever it needs to make the box a lot tighter between shifts and while in gear. So far it seems that Rupe and teh interwhebbz are your best bet for finding good Astina parts, as Aus modifiers don't seem to support the humble Astina with aftermarket goodies. The joys of being underdogs I guess... I beat that Turbo Beetle by the way. Kinda felt wrong coz she is smoking hot... :P |

Sounds just like shifter bushes, not box.

Rupe, I do agree with derb though that it feels like my synchros are heading towards replacement, if not already need replacing. Happy to do as little as necessary to rectify the issue, I just miss my old box
Any idea on parts and labour cost to get that done somewheres? |

Rupe might be right though. You can pick up a set of bushing off ebay that are meant for the lasers. I'm running them after having the Corksport Bronzeoil bushings and the Ford ones are better. Also we are starting to get a little love in the suspension department. Also remember that any 89-93 MX-5 has essentially the same motor so you can find some nice engine bits if you look hard enough. I've got a parts list for BG Astinas that I could post up. parts and part numbers for a ****load of stuff. Let me know if you want it.

Had a cruise with me and the GutterStars Crew yesterday in the nice weather. Met up at The Feathers Hotel Carpark to go up Greenhill Rd and work our way down south towards Flagstaff and back to Westfield Marion.
Here's a link to the pics: http://www.astinagt.com/forums/showt...426#post284426 Sorry no motion shots or mid cruise ones Ashlee's bloody clean though!! |

Def dont waist time replacing shocks... 3 yrs later you'll wish u had of gone coilovers... :P
i'm saving up, made that mistake... thats near the woolsheds in pt adelaide. :P used t work there myself as for gearbox people, you have jaustech, they will to a great job, but charge you for it, and then there will be whole time issue... :/ i have 2 guys, but not sure what the timing would be like for gearboxes...

I agree with Sam_323, definitely hit up Jaustech to get your gearbox done. When/if you decide to paint your rocker cover, let me know - I just finished mine (couldn't wait ) and it came out with an awesomely amazing finish to it! (pics are to follow in my fail build thread )

I may hit up Jaustech in a few lightyears once my funds allow it, for now I'm just pottering around keeping her clean and replacing what breaks.
The low beam in the drivers side went last week, so I now have Narva Super Whites and I need to adjust the drivers side light abck down as I retardedly tried to get to the globe one night and spent ages winding the adjuster screw out... ProTip: Don't be on the phone to your missus and work on the car at the same time! Nick, y u no come past mah house when in Pt Adelaide? I've got some hot hug to spray :L Rocker cover is ETA end of April. Engagement Party and Wedding over the next two weeks leaves very little time when you're involved with both (none of them mine btw) |

A Wee update:
Removed the giant AXIS sticker off my rear window, and the Astina SP and Maxda Stickers from the rear. Bled my brakes out as they faded during a recent hills bash with xeon recently and did a tyre rotation while I was at it. Currently below 50% on the now rears and about 75% on my fronts... friggin Bob's. I've removed my Monoblock and sub as the RCA's from my work have failed. Crimp style RCA's are the devil, you're much better off licking arsenic and listening to the pretty songs on your way out. Currently looking at: http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/d...kit-p-390.html And will be purchasing MDF and carpet to do my boot install properly, along with new RCA's made of win and unicorn feathers. Anyone run a MegaSquirt or similar before? |

No megasquirt experience, but this is what I'll be buying for my Astina at some point.
