I'll make a thread in the QLD section.

ok just to recap what happend 2day. 1stly i wanted 2 fixup my dodgy paintjob of my rear pannel and lights (1st time paint cost me 75 this time 75 so thats 150 in just spray paint ) after much sanding, priming, drying and coating i was down to the last clear coat...literaly, when a gust of wind picked upn stuck the paper that my rear panel was sitting on on to the panel. all in all ruined the paint. i left it to dry then 2 sand (overnite) and when i was sanding 2day i noticed the paint moving. so i took a knife and cut a small hole and ended up, without much force at all, peeling the whole painjob (bout 3mm thick) off the rear panel, including the paint that was on it b4, cus i didnt sand down to plastic. so i figured out that im gonna get it done in 2pak, and that plastic primer is **** acrylic paint doesnt stick to it
the end

I broke my steering shaft!!!

My steering shaft snapped and everything in my steerin colum is stuffed. now my car is just sitting in the shed, its in a lot of bit. I'll fix it one day soon, and it will be back up and racing. i'll get some photo's of it up soon. still having issues with the right rear brake locking up and not opening again. Front cannards have really helped with controlling the gravel drifting.

took the GTR to a mates mechanic workshop (just found out he took management & bought the business) to get it on the hoist & have a quick look underneathe. also to loosen the tight oil filter so i can change the oil tommorrow since i can't get much good leverage at home since i don't yet have car ramps either...

looks pretty good, got some complements on the exhaust system too. only criticism is a missing bolt allowing a slight leak. had a spare bolt from around the place put on & alls good. seems to of made the turbo more responsive too

1stly here is the photo (finally) if my HID conversion

but that was a week or so ago
so here is 2days update

FROSTED taillights

now i know some of you will say sht thats illegal, but i read the guidelines and nowhere does it say that red/yellow has to be showing when the light is not on (lights on/brake applied/indicator) but it does state that there needs to be a reflector, a certain size of the taillight (i beleive 20% but im not 100% sure) allways visible to the rear of the car for safty when parked purposes, and general safety while driving (case of lights being blown or off so car is visible to approaching traffic) allso sais that red lights can only show to the rear of the car, and white to the front only. but these go really red when on
so what you guys think

EDIT: this worked better thain i thought as the white transmits light more readelly than i expected even in daylight as opposed to tinting

today:
- tried out a braiding kit on a couple of hoses in the engine bay, average results
- flushed out coolant and replaced
- new oil and filter

Put my newly rebuilt JIC coilovers into the Hardtop, and took it for a drive. **** me i'd missed driving it. Being able to boot it away from the lights and just disappear into the distance is so much fun!

The 14" MX5 wheels i have on it do nothing for my traction issues though haha
