FL.com cruise- 17th Oct- Putty Rd>Old Pacific

DATE: Sunday 17th October 2010

MEETING POINT:
TBA
(being Sunday, The windsor Boat Ramp will be packed, as will the park on the other side of the river...) ill do a bit of scouting and find a good spot.

MEETING TIME:
8:30-8:45
Make sure your Tank is topped before you get to the meet point, and that youve had some food(or bring some munchies for the drive), as it's 3 hrs before we hit our lunch destination..

DEPARTING TIME:
being such a long trip, a depart time of 9-9:15 sounds reasonable

Length of trip
Approx 6 hrs Driving, and 400kms

Lunch time
I dont know the area of Maitland well, infact ive only been there once about 3 months ago and went there for the sole purpose of going to the cinema, so i have no idea on what the eating is like there..
if anyone knows the area, or has a better suggestion for a lunch stop, feel free to mention it.

WHAT TO BRING:
full tank of fuel, camera. Money for some lunch, mates with cars/bikes
CB Radios if you have them, they always come in handy when people turn the wrong way
*Cough Cough* ME *cough*

Being a long route, we may also need to make a refuel stop halfway along, especially if we have biker friends joining us. i have a 20L jerry can that i might bring along and secure in the boot just incase...

Route:

http://tinyurl.com/27ojsmo

Okay fellas, so as you can see our Route will begin in Windsor, from there we'll travel the entire length of Putty Road, then when we hit the New England Hwy we'll cruise that across to maitland where we will sotp at a pub/club/burger joint for some lunch, then either head over to Newcastle Foreshore for the Sunday car meet, or to Mt Sugarloaf for an alternative for happy snaps before heading back to Horsnby via the Old Pacific Highway start to finish in all its windy goodness...

Members of other forums are welcome and are encouraged to attend this cruise aswell as it is not restricted to just www.fordlaser.com members
Please also remmebr that the roads we are travelling on are Public roads.

Fordlaser.com does not condone hooning in any way and the LAW must be followed. Abusers of the law can and will be filmed and reported.(By Order of Brad- Zero_Cool)

thanks guys
Cameron.

I am not confirming this YET

but I will say - I was on both roads recently for a trip up the north coast way further up but.

I do suggest you make a stop pre putty road so everyones tank is full. depending on your car of course.

I did the run in the LEXUS and well for the big boat it was set cruise and steer but it's not road to be abused people. were there police on the weekend - YES and NO.
was there a ferrari I had a go at yes a 360 - was he caught down the road, Yes he was.

the roads can easily be enjoyed at legal speeds.

so understand as well the road is not smooth - it's been resurafaced over the last 5-8 years but it's not freeway smooth - some of the tighter corners of it even at legal speeds will scrub your tyres.

but it is a must for anyone in sydney area to experience it.

I must make one big note - Don't start on it after 4pm - this is when the animals and kangaroos or wombats etc start to come out - even the famous Penrith Panther has been spoted in the area.

Very good points roadhog..

Were starting the run in windsor, which is virtually the start of the putty, so people coming from far far away will need to stop at one of the nearby servos.. before they come to the meet point, or get there earlier enough to run 5 mins up the road to a servos before we leave..

Nah sorry mate, FL.com have had enough southward bound cruises for a while..
Its not exactly fair on the central coast guys who have to leave 2 hours and minicruise to the meeting point...so were heading north this time

That's fair enough. I'd feel the same way if I lived up north.
