BJII-J48 lower girdle
Hello guys, servicing the old boys car and we're trying to separate the girdle from the block, and we've removed all the bolts but it won't come out.
How hard is it to remove the trans? Do I need to brace the engine to remove the trans? Regards Damo |

Here is a pic of the plate:
Any ideas on how to separate trans from engine just a little bit? Or do I have to remove the entire thing? |

You should be able to wiggle them apart enough to get to the last two bolts.
A few people drill holes in the trans case to get around this problem in the future.

Thanks Orion, hopefully I can, I'm guessing I would need to remove the crossmember holding in the box and the bolts all around the housing of the box?
