Wensday the 26th of January 2005 * Australia Day* Was simply an awsome day the weather behaved for for us perfectly despite the scarey signs of rain from the night before. A large amount of people turned up over the day (27 cars from memory) despite a couple of people who had to bail last minute, it still was a big turn out to say the least. The Newcastle procession left Charlestown maccas at roughly quater to ten and we made our way down to the Caltex servo in good time. When we first arrived we were stoked with the amount of cars that were already there from Newcastle (some 13 cars) and we still had the Sydney group on its way. The Sydney group then arrived and it soon became clear that this was going to be a very big day. The quality of cars that turned out was simply amazing. We hung around at Caltex for a while taking a few pictures, meeting new people and looking at some pretty awsome cars. At about eleven we started to make our way to Harrigans, it was so cool being at the back of the pack and seeing a big trail of multi coloured mazda's go down a steep hill. We made it to harrigans in good time, it was a shame that for many of us that our meals didnt make it to the table in good time but that could not sour the great atmosphere. We then left Harrigans (some of the group had to leave early but we still had a big group) and we made our way to Newcastle by the fun twisty roads at Mount Sugarloaf, on the way out we had a little drama as james exhaust manifold played up and changed his exaust note to something like 250 cc dirt bike, but he decided to soldier on. We finished of the day at King Edward park, where we hungout and had a good talk with those who were still with us . A simply great day and I only hope that next year's Newcastle cruise can be bigger and better. |

The cruise was awesome. i think this is mainly because of the huge effort tidy protege and james put in to make truly great day. Without their organisation we would not have had 27 cars turn up, so congrats are in order for tidy and james.
