pinstripe removal

hay guys

those anyone no the easiest/best/fastest way to remove it without damaging the paint

i got one side off with a sculple type of knife thing but it took me so long and a bit of paint came off

any help will be much appreciated

try using a heat gun untill the glue melts then it should come of easylie, leaving a bitch of a cleaning to do but at least no paint would come of. be advised but i never tryd removing the pinstripes that came from factory, this is how i removed other stuff like vinyls and stickers anyway i hope it helps

I've also heard of using a caramel wheel as being the easiest way.



basically a rubber thing that grips the stcker as it spins and pulls it away from the paint.



I've never used one, but have heard they work well.

to get the stick suff off use ommmpphhh for the hardware house. Its really good, makes it soo easy to get off.

Or use Prepsol, it's designed to be used to clean auto duco.

Rub it over the stripes a few times to loosen the glue before scraping with a plastic spatula. Then clean with a cloth moistened with more prepsol.

BTW don't use a heat gun with this stuff.

leave it out in the sun or use a hairdrier to warm it. then it should peel right off. thats how i did mine

I debadged my mums audi recently....i levered the badges off(this bit wouldn't work for you)

but for removing the left over sticky stuff i scraped the thick stuff with a plastic credit card, and got the sticky residue off with mineralised methylated spirit....worked brill
