The US got the Protege/Familia from 95-98, and Canada got that, and the 323 Neo/Lynx. But no Astinas.

Just wondering if any of you know how to tell the difference between a MAZDA 323 BG10P2 Astina, and the SP one? Because on carsales some of the SP models have "MAZDA" next to the right light, whilst some have the circle inside the cirlce badge instead. Its the same with the non SP models. Do they differ for each year? Or is there a way to tell them apart?
Any info would be great!

no its not zappy...some SOHC came out with sunroofs...the mazda badge on the bar next to the blinker in the bar means series 1...series 2 didnt have that...

BG10P1 = series 1
BG10P2 = series 2

youll have to find out if its DOHC or SOHC, also if it has more sportier looking seats, power windows, sunroof...if it has the full package will most likely be a SP...

Ok could someone help me out here.

i know my mazda is a 1991 BG 323 astina (not the sp!).. i think its a SOHC (¿) . i've seen the same car at calder park in melbourne with a 1.8 turbo engine etc..

my question is what size engine does the 91 bg come with, and where the frell do people get these turbo edition engines from, and how much?!

they get the turbo engines from....none other then a GTX familia or a laser turbo usually....and to a lesser extent the GTR familia....basically a small hatchback mazda that is turboed....you can tell wether it is SOHC by where the spark plugs are... by the way 91 BG's came with both 1.6 SOHC and 1.8 DOHC have a look at my readers rides to see a DOHC engine....

you are in europe, hence why you have a 323f and not a astina.

it could be a DOHC or a SOHC...have a look at the engine...if the spark plug leads goto the front of the engine above the exhaust its a SOHC...if they goto the top of the engine and have the cover go either side of them (front & back) its a DOHC...
