BPT is in, LSD now in a BA G-series instead of a BG, All new mounts, New front bushes, VF10 Hybrid is finished, Maaad Rocker cover, and New CV's

almost ready, just waiting on the Looms that Matt is fixing up, and for me to get it to an exhaust shop

oh and some gearbox oil, what should i use for that and should i get the friction modifier for the LSD?

will post pics later

you don't need a friction modifiers for hypoid gearboxes anymore. there are plenty of gearbox fluids nowadays that are lsd friendly.

My my my......

has been a an eventful last few months, but 3000ks later and the Turbosauras is going good and strong.. finally

after getting the motor finished, exhaust on, wiring done [by Mad Mat, huge thanks as i made it hard for him :P] and i thought it was finished

sadly i got maybe 300ks out of the motor before i lost all oil pressure one night, stopping immediately, i got it towed home and began searching for the problem

first thing was to drain the oil...... found many metal chunks in there
then the sump came off and everything LOOKED ok, then i gave the rods a wiggle......

all four of them had more play than the turbo did, was not looking good
i thought it was dead.

it sat for about a week, then i worked up the strength to pull the motor back out.
with the motor out i began disassembling the bottom end, first off was the oil pump with obvious signs of metal being forced through it.
next was the rod endcaps and bearings
end caps and rods were ok, bearings were ruined
main bearings and caps were in the same shape

pulled the crank out and had it measured, was well out of round and spec
would appear that when the shop measured the crank and supplied the bearings to the guy who built the motor messed up [buggers tried every excuse not to cover under their warranty]

Appeared a Wild BP Block!!

i eventually was given an N/A block from matt that he had laying around and its crank was perfectly good!!

Project-R [or DJ RyRy Apparently] knows this block VERY well

$90 for a complete set of NDC bearings, $100ish for a new oil pump and new fluids

smash it all back together in time for a car show and its going strong

Smashing Type-R Civics, Turbo skylines and the occasional SS on only 5 Psi Boost always makes me laugh

Sooooo Yeah, been a great year, bring on 2016

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!

Hey mate, hope it is coming together smoothly now for you, Matt was telling me of the rod carnage.

Edit: bearing carnage i mean! I heard something about nasty damage anyway. Was quite distracted looking at Matts engine bay while he was telling me..

yes and no..
just little issues now, i.e stalling when cold, no power when cold, stuttering while cruising at any temp ect..

something interesting though, found out the other day that im using N/A [beige top] injectors, they came on the motor and i never noticed it lol

got BPT ones coming in the mail

I used N/A injectors with a 200kw atw setup, so they're quite usable.

Hmmm I'm intrigued

Still going with BPT ones, had the afr checked at a dyno and it leans out to 15 near the top end of the rev range, that's only 5psi too

got it out, had the clearances checked, and it was all sweet

Injectors solved all problems, works soo well now that in the morning it starts as soon as it cranks

bought a boost controller and upped it to 10 Psi... Chopped a VE SV6 Commodore, didnt even get out of second gear
