Bourbon: I think there are 1.6L MZR engines in Europe.
Luke: The main thing is that the Mazda3 engines, no matter what size, face the other direction. ie: Intake is at the front near the radiator. So it won't work. Gav. |

According to ProtegeFAQ, There were to variants to the 1.6L in the BK 3 series, being the Y6 (turbo diesel) & the Z6-VE (petrol)
Also states they even have a 1.3L variant too!

Yeah lost of fun but it does run out of puff around the 4k to 4k5 mark. The one I drove recently had a speed limiter set to 120kmh which came up very quickly. I think it'd be fun to give it a good squirt with the traction control turned off

Yeah, it's only on song between 1700 and 4500 really, but it saves you changing gear. We went round the Black Spur/Reefton Spur loop, and i just left it in 3rd for most of the tight twisty stuff. I did manage to spin the wheels though with the DSC on

I wonder what it'd sound like with a 'zorst and CAI?
Probably like a truck.

2.3L turbo 4WD vs. 2.3L FWD. the extra $20K is worth it. |

The 3 felt much faster and the 6 was to relaxed and the suspension felt like it was more about comfort than speed For the $20000 difference id much rather have a 3 MPS and a few year old Mazda MX5!!!! Now that would be a more fun package. Hmmmm Mazda 3 MPS motor in a MX5? wonder if Mazda could do it? |

Mazda 3 Diesel - 110Kw and 360nm
Mazda 6 Diesel - 136Kw and 400nm Both have the same engine designation. Is this power difference mechanical or electronic?
