Yeah. Fair enough. Try Corksport. There has to be access to HD Exedy or any other really that's better than stock! Stage 2,3 even on EBay

funny you mention the button style clutches... was just talking about them in my build thread.
My brothers 180sx SR20det is using a brass button ceramic puk clutch (extreme brand) aswell as a lightened fly. and even on that application 160-170rwkw, it is totally overkill.his mate is running 200rwkw on a exedy HD clutch and not one bit of slip, ever, and is much easier to drive. driving through the traffic and hill starts are an absolute nightmare. takeoff aren't too bad once you get use to it. but i agree... when you first start driving with a clutch like that, it puts a heap of strain on the box, and definitely wouldn't recommend it on a daily relatively low powered car. for your application i would just go for oem replacement... especially if you are selling it. the HD replacements from exedy are verry good... brother went from an oem one in his 1994 celica to a HD, had a bit more bite. however, it did shudder slightly, which is a common issue with the hd clutches.

we had a guy once that had a s15.
it needed a new clutch, so he thought that he will get the toughest clutch that will never break. (witch he did) Problem is his blowen 2 gearboxes and a diff in about 6mnths. mind you the clutch is still fine |

haha, exactly. One engine and gear box builder who i was talking once said to me that when he rebuilds an entire car (both engine and gearbox) he will then go match the clutch to the power levels... but also makes sure that the clutch has a lower power rating than the gearbox/driveline. in most cases his theory is right as he pretty much knows how much power each type of box can take.

Mat. You sure about the 50 series? Shouldn't they be 40 or 45? Especially the 225's? Regardless I'd go the Kumhos

yeah. As you go wider on the tyre (from 195 to 205/215/225) you have to go lower profile on same rim to keep rolling diameter close to spec ie: 195/50 is a certain ratio of width to hieght etc. 225/40 would actually be closer to spec whereas 225/50 would be taller (greater rolling diameter)

Perhaps Mat is shopping for tyres to fit FD rims?
